Man steals Breach game code at PAX East, gets arrested photo

Atomic Games never seems to have it easy. The studio was showing off its latest game, Breach, at PAX East this past weekend, but became the victims of theft when one douchebag attendee stole the game's code. Fortunately, thanks to some fancy footwork, the would-be criminal mastermind was swiftly apprehended.

The cheeky scamp managed to download a portion of the code from the booth before being spotted and dashed into a crowd upon discovery. After initiating a search mission, Atomic found the man harboring the stolen code on his computer.

"The suspect did admit to us several times, including as he was doing it, that he was stealing the code. He said to myself and several other team members, after being caught, that it was not a big deal, he just really liked the game and wanted to play it with his friends," explains Atomic's David Tractenberg.

"This guy had only succeeded in copying about 14MB to his laptop before our staff caught him. Because of the work we do for military and intelligence organizations, we take security issues like this very seriously ... It is fortunate for him that we caught him before any of this ended up on the internet. Many of the hackers who stole Valve's Half-Life 2 code were tracked down by the FBI's Cybercrime Task Force."

Pro tip: Atomic is full of badasses. Don't mess with them.

He just wanted to play. Him, his friends, and 100K seeders and leechers on the pirate bay. Stupid is self-eliminating, and that my friends, was stupid.

This would make a great movie. Man goes to PAX and tries to download game code from booth. He gets spotted but makes a quick dash back home. He finds out that he didn't steal a game code, but a secret military program made by Atomic that is incriminating against the government! Man tries to spread the news while playing a cat and mouse game with the military.

After playing the game at PAX East, I don't think the individual should be charged as he didn't steal anything of value.

HEY-OH!!

Should have snatched the whole computer instead. The chase would have been probably more exciting.

Saw this guy as he was being taken out of the convention center. He was a little guy. My favorite quote of his, "I love going to jail."

but what if that code somehow evolves into skynet, and he had to go back in time to steal the code to preserve the future of humanity?

... and so we took our game code to a convention and let a dude copy it.

This sounds so bad ass, but why would you steal code in the middle of a crowded area? That's like robbing a bank without masks.

It sounds like this kid has mental issues. Too bad the criminal justice system will likely just lock him up and think it solved the problem.

What the f*k was he thinking? What an idiot. Couldn't you just play it there, or WAIT for it to come out? No, it's much better to try and steal it, goto prison, and then have other people download in your butt for 5 years.

So this guy is a short kid, and has Mental Illness too. Wow. He is going to get so pass around in prison.
