Just when we were tired of the PlayStation 3 Slim rumors -- the leaks, the retailer hints, the fake ads -- Sony goes ahead and announces the thing at gamescom. We're thrilled, of course, because that means all of the chatter about a new console can just stop already.
Not so fast. An FCC filing uncovered by PS3 News points to yet another model PS3 Slim, the CECH-2000B. What's the difference? Well, it has a 250GB hard drive; the announced CECH-2000A comes with a 120GB hard drive. The filing's a bit sneaky, with Sony's lawyers attempting to hide it under another company's name. But PS3 News put on its detective hat and rest assured, this is the real deal.
So now we wait for the retailer leaks, the pricing speculation, and the phony advertisements designed in Photoshop by sad people who think they're clever. This doesn't amuse us. Not one bit.

I bet there will be some good sales on the old fatty PS3's to clear them out as well.
I hope they just go with 500gb HDDs for each console next generation and have ONE fucking console version per company. This is getting ridiculous.
We might as well all be playing on PCs at this point. Focus on your god damn games.
Upgraded to 500 and got about 250 free, so I'd say yes ;-)
Seriously though, the hard disk is really not that important if you can live with reinstalling past games you want to revisit, and don't put music and videos on it.
