Quantcast

Ever since I was little, when I used to command my He-Man action figures to destroy my neighbor’s My Little Pony stable (take no equine prisoners, Man-At-Arms!), I have longed for the day I could control my own army to cause chaos across the land.

It looks like these dreams may finally come true with the upcoming Overlord for the Xbox 360 and PC. This first trailer, while short on gameplay (not so short on annoying narration, though), reminds me of the classic Dungeon Keeper, which is definitely not a bad thing. Hopefully there will be a lot more depth to the game than shown in the teaser, as the promising concept of leading an army of monsters could end up getting pretty darn old pretty darn fast. At the very least, it will fulfill all of my childhood pillaging fantasies, which makes me happy.

Just look at the way those creatures are destroying that village for their master. It’s like poetry. That’s right, I’m talking about you, you filthy creatures. Get back to wreaking havoc! Never disobey your master! Stupid, minions.

My beloved Teela would be so proud of me right now.

Dungeon Keeper was the first thing i thought of when I first heard about this game too. The idea sounds like a blast, I hope it delivers.

It's like Pikman plus violence.

I saw this game in a magazine a long, long time ago and I'm glad to finally see it in motion.

Looks a lot like Fable, stylistically. I will definitely look into this game. I've always wanted my own horde.

I like the minion with the pumpkin on his head in the gameplay part.

Carnage and Humor, a Monty Python stable.

So is the whole game just you walking around and pointing at stuff for them to destroy? A pointing simulater, now that is next gen.

Well hopefully they can deliver a game that actually has some replay value and at least a decent length main campaign.
This game looks like it could be really good, but if its too short it will only be a rental.

Graphics look really good compared to some old screens I've seen. The walking animation is really stiff looking right now though. Hopefully they'll fix that later.

Dungeon Keeper +1

but this one looks beautiful and a ton of entertainment. As long they keep the NPC's intelligent and fun to play with.

Yeah, I hope there's multiple storylines or a point... it does look fun, though.
