I like Cooking Mama games. I really do. They're simple, but there's something about them that appeals to my obsessive complusive disorder. When I heard about Gardening Mama, I thought, well, it's technically more of the same, but I'll probably like that too. As Nick Chester likes to say, these are good games to play while on the can.

1Up brought news recently that Majesco just trademarked Crafting Mama, according to the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. The trademark was filed on March 11th, and I think it's safe to say that we'll see Mama sewing and making her own aprons before long.

Sure, the jokes were already flying about Cooking Mama way back when, but now that both Gardening Mama and presumably Crafting Mama are on the way, you can't say the whole thing doesn't just reek of a breeding ground for sexism. What's next, guys? Domestic Abuse Mama?

This is actually a good idea. When I was a kid I loved making crafts, and even nowadays I frequently find myself getting crafty. Crafts are a very good passtime, and a game that gives people ideas on how to get started sounds like a pretty novel idea.

I see no problems with a Crafting Mama or Gardening Mama. If Mama's sexist, then Martha Stuart is sexist, because that's pretty much all the series is, is Martha Stuart + some entertaining engrish and stylus minigames.
