Sony social media manager and sexual ape Jeff Rubenstein has been hanging around with Zipper Interactive, asking them questions about Massive Action Game, the 256-player online FPS that we got to take a look at for a delicious hands-on preview. Because the questions were taken from the disgusting public, nothing truly interesting was actually asked, but it's worth watching if you simply can't get enough MAG down your slimy gullet.
This game is looking really hot and between all the previews it has certainly crept up my list of anticipated games. It seems that the PlayStation 3 is really starting to go toe-to-toe with Xbox Live and providing some extremely good, free-to-play online experiences. Hopefully this continues, and MAG goes on to cement the PS3's place as a worthy online console. Hit the jump for the video.

Meet the rest of the team
Man, this sounds fantastic! I remember laughing at the game and the idea of the game when I first heard about it, but the more they talk about the structure, the more it sounds like the type of FPS I've always wanted.
It's a huge step, but I hope they can pull this off!
I wasn't interested in this game at first. But now I'm entertaining the thought of a pre-order. The game sounds amazing. I wonder how the rank system is going to work on day one though. I mean everyone is going to be at the lowest level on day one. So are people from the company going to be playing the leader roles until people level up? Or are the people who get lucky enough to get into the beta are going to keep their rank or be given a rank on the release?
Gets me more interested the more I hear. Wanted it from the start anyway.
The only thing I am not too keen on is the weapons I keep on seeing, they look either a bit clunky or no attachments/aiming system, that might make me choose the sniper.
As much as I dislike console FPSs, I have to say, this game is very exciting. The massive scale may seem chaotic, but it seems they have the squad organization and mini-objectives headed in the right direction. As long as you're familiar with the people in your own squad, the battle should be enjoyable and manageable.
I could easily see myself volunteering for communications sabotage missions and having a blast!
Also, three years into development and they're still sticking with the title MAG!? I thought that was just a placeholder name until they come up with something more creative and appealing...
This game sounds very awsome..
I like how the gear system is similar to COD4.. however I would hate to grind multiple characters in order to gain all the abilities.
I wonder if there will be special abilities that only certain sides would receive.
As intriguing as it sounds, I'm not letting myself get excited over this. I just don't see a game that requires such a large amount of players catching on in Australasia.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Also, I need the beta now!!
