2K has a lot of treats planned for Mafia fans. They recently announced a collector's edition which will consist of a hard case, art book, soundtrack, map and free DLC. A number of retailers are also planning some pre-order incentives, all detailed after the break.
Along with this EXCITING NEWS comes this new trailer showing off the PhysX power for Mafia II on the PC. I got a first hand look at the game on the PC and feel it's going to be better of the three versions. Plus, it's $10 less on the PC.
Full details of the collector's edition:
- Collectible SteelBook™ Casing: Brushed metallic SteelBook hard case with debossed logo containing two pieces of art featuring Vito and Joe, the stars of Mafia II.
- Made Man Pack: Free access to in-game downloadable pack that lets players get behind the wheel of two different luxury automobiles modeled after cars from the period. In addition, Vito will look the part with two new “made man” suits, including a vintage tux.
- Hardcover Art Book: Get to know the families of Empire Bay with a 100-page photo album-style art book that takes fans through the artistic design process of the game.

Bring a taste of Vegas to Empire Bay as you cruise through the town in two new cars with smooth handling and timeless lines. Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

in fact i bet within 10 years the CPU is phased out altogether in favor of a multi core P/G/VPU on one board (mobo)
My jaw hurts from smacking the floor so hard.
the answer you wanted is - yes, hardware support is exclusive to nvidia
as for the second question - no, most likely you've made a good price/quality choice. ATI lacks physX support, but i can hardly call your choice "a mistake"
First Post, Hi all.
Another trailer for another gsme that does more harm than good in that it makes itself look like just another GTA clone. I know there's more to it than that, but anyone going by the trailer sure wouldn't.
Unless you are going to have two high-end cards in your PC you will likely be disabling all the nVidia effects anyway, as they are extremely resource hungry. The ATI 5000 series are excellent cards, I just upgraded to one myself. You made a good choice.
@Lethalizer415, where are you seeing the map?
grabbing 2 hd5770 instead of one 5870, however, sounds a bit strange:)
The pair will be slightly faster but also more power-hungry.
But then again, i don't know how much did that 5770 cost you and how much do the 5870 cost near you.
Here it is:

Yeah it does look small, but I bet the developers made it seem bigger by having the cars drive really slow, like vintage cars did
But I can honestly say I'm interested now - graphical style appeals to me, as long as it plays well this could be a bit of a dark-horse entry to my games library!
