Mad Jack Thompson serves fake cease and desist to webcomic artist photo

Tipster Pablo sent an email in to us regarding an amusing, if somewhat sad new adventure in the chronicles of crazy Jack Thompson. Scott Johnson, the creator of My Extra Life, has been served an unofficial cease and desist from the office of Jack Thompson via his blog, following a photoshop contest involving ol' Jacko that the artist is currently running with his readers.

Scott assumed it was one of his audience pranking him, so the 'legal' warning was laughed off. "If you are the real Jack Thompson, then I should be getting a LEGAL cease and desist letter from you, not some anonymous comment in a blog post," Johnson answered. "So since I did not get that. And since I don’t think you are him at all, then the answer is no. Nice try though…made me giggle."

Thompson's retort was simple. He simply replied with "Ok, your mistake. Laugh your ass off." The man who is yet to outright deny accusations of his being a bisexual pedophile has resorted to cowardly threats on blogs, and according to further research from Scott, it's the real deal. Isn't that special? Johnson himself doesn't feel threatened, confident that Thompson can do nothing but threaten. He did, however, make the most perfect statement on the situation, and I can think of no better way to end the story than with Scott's own words:

Why would a person sit in front of a computer and search Technorati or other engines all day to see if people are saying your name? Why would a person care about a photoshop contest to the degree that they make threats to meet that care? Why would a Florida bar certified lawyer even bother with our stupid little mom and pop shop here? Why would that self same lawyer tell me to “laugh my ass off”, or post a comment in a blog, or any of these things and still expect people to consider him a professional in field of law?

Why indeed, Jack? Why indeed, you complete arsehammer.

Please Jim. Please tell me you sent that e-mail. Even better, let's make it an official petition and get the world to sign it before delivering it to him.

I hinted this thing days ago...
Oh well, I submitted my photoshop work and I'll posting it after the winner is decided, as a homage to the unique douche that Jack Thompson is. ^_^

I think loosing a few sperm cells would do the man good. He's probably sexually deprived.

Florida bar certified? I thought he was disbarred. Or, at least in the process.

This is nothing new really. Jack Thompson has done this to me as well over at GamePolitics.com. I post there fairly often and on time an impostor Jack Thompson was saying something and people were replying to that impostor. I simply let them know they were talking to a fake. Next thing I know, the real Jack Thompson is accusing me of being the impostor and saying if I didn't stop he'd be forced to take me to court. I didn't believe it was the real guy, but Dennis, owner of GamePolitics.com, had deleted all of the fake JT's post and left that one and so I asked if it was the real Jack Thompson and he said it looked that way.

Jack Thompson visits that site frequently as well and harass the people who post there and the owner, Dennis. He's said a lot of stupid things, as usual, and people tear his arguments apart left and right. But, 9 out of 10 times he never has the ball to respond to anyone who's made him look like a complete asshole...well, even more so than before anyway.

So, yeah, no one is safe from this man's legal threats. Hell, if I can be threatened with a suit for no reason, then he might do it to anyone else who's just a reader. Hell, someone on here might be next.

I've last so much damn faith in our legal system as I've grown up... The fact that this chode hasn't been disbarred yet isn't helping.

It’s a sad state of affairs for Mr. Thompson and his antics when I am no longer surprised by any of the increasingly outrageous and ridiculous things he does.

Jack's problems are mental, not sexual. The guy is looney tunes, and clearly has been since he started comparing himself to Batman while trying to get 2 Live Crew and NWA records banned.

I find the Batman comparison funny actually. When you think about it, Jack Thompson is comparing himself to a grown man who dresses in a rubber suit and hangs around in a cave with a young boy. Hmmm...

@Mxyz:

A bunch of people over at Gamepolitics have been saying that Thompson likely has narcissist personality disorder. When you read more about npd, it explains pretty much everything that's wrong with him.

This guy is the ultimate videogame messageboard troll. He comes out and says outrageous shit that everyone knows is false, yet everybody feels the need to jump in and respond to the guy, giving him exactly what he wants. He pulls stunts like this because he knows every little thing he does is going to be reported all over.

He's the friggin' Paris Hilton of the videogame media world. No one wants to hear about the guy yet not a day goes by where there's not an article about him somewhere. For years this guy has been trying to get things banned, recalled, censored, whatever, and he hasn't been successful in anything. He has no pull in the government or the game industry and is now more concerned with his own celebrity than anything. Just let him wither away somewhere.

I'm not fully convinced he has mental problems. I see a very bored, very insignificant little man who's craziness is born out of desperation to count for something in his previously unspectacular life. Sure, I refer to him as mad Jack, but I think his madness is a sign of a man who thinks he knows what he's doing, but in reality is too stupid to know when to quit.
