Mad Catz to re-release Rock Band 3 this holiday photo

[corgi head tilt]

Accessories company Mad Catz has entered into an agreement with Harmonix to re-release Rock Band 3 this holiday season. Last year's hit music game will come back this holiday as a bundle, published by the company that actually made the Rock Band hardware. Weird! They're just kind of...taking over for EA, I guess.

Gamasutra says that the game will also be available with the Wireless Mustang Pro-Guitar Controller, allowing you to get down with the pro-guitar content.

I was more interested in seeing a larger version of the header than the article itself.

So wait, are they just re-releasing rock band 3's bundles, or are these new bundles in some way?

You scoff, but I didn't buy RB3 last year because I don't own any hardware and I never pulled the trigger on buying it all outside of a bundle. If bundled right, this is a buy for me. I always found it strange there was no full band bundle for RB3.

god damnit, and we've finally gotten most of these huge bundles out of our store, JUST IN TIME to be restocked, thanks Mad Catz, another reason to hate you.

wait what? so is this just regular RB3 with plastic crap or will those copies have some additional content(songs, vouchers to get some free songs from psn/xbl)? also will those bundles be budget(lower?) priced compared to original?
wait isn't Rocksmith being released this year too? if it's as good as people say it is, i'm getting this one? being able to actually play on the guitar instead of hitting buttons automatically wins.

If this makes getting hold of the instruments easier I'm all for it. Stuff is hard to find in the UK.

Here's hoping they release some better song packs to coincide. There's been hardly anything grabbing my attention for nearly a year.

MORE Rock Band? Well as long as it doesn't end up like Guitar Hero...

@tylerstravis: I'm sorry for you man.

Your love for corgies gives me the strangest boner.

Also, I could see how this would be beneficial to people who want some axes and twigs along with their game. Could never justify it though, not in my house at least :P

Kinda scary to think about Madcatz publishing games..

It reminds me of the days when you had to watch out for their products because they could fry your memory cart ports ect... Hopefully their discs won't brick your system somehow.

More interested in Rocksmith this holiday, but I might bite if the price is significantly lower. Like $59 for the game and the Mustang and a voucher for DLC.

I have an $1100 guitar. Rocksmith lets me use my guitar instead of a $200 piece of plastic. I think rocksmith is the way to go for me.
