Mad Catz officially signs on to make Xbox 360 games photo

Not controllers. Games.

Mad Catz, the guys behind all many of third-party controllers and accessories out there, announces today that they've entered into a Publisher License Agreement with Microsoft. This agreement allows Mad Catz to submit games to be published on the Xbox 360.

What are they working on? I heard something about a flight sim MMO awhile back, but I'm sure they have more up their sleeves than just a flight sim MMO. Not that a flight sim MMO isn't cool or anything.

Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. stated, "The execution of the Xbox 360 Publisher License Agreement marks an important milestone as we pursue our longer term goal of expanding our participation in developing, publishing and distributing games."

A flight sim mmo? That sounds a tad less than exciting, but crazier concepts have done well so who knows...

Mad Catz has come a long way since my friend and I used to buy their controllers used at garage sales, for $1, as "wall throwing controllers".

I still remember to this day, I was playing some terrible Eidos developed Ninja game for PS1, and my Mad Katz d-pad just broke off, revealing basically Elmer's Glue holding it together. I screamed "FUCK MAD CATZ!", threw it into the wall, and never bought another Mad Katz product again.

Until... I got a Mad Katz PS1 memory card for Christmas without asking! And guess what that did? Yep! Within four months, it randomly corrupted half my memory card, deleting my FF7 and FF8 files, but keeping all the short platform game saves.

Thanks for the memories Mad Katz!

And yes, I did switch out Catz for Katz multiple times above. Too much Swat Katz on the brain!

Well, this sounds cool. Mad Cats circa 2009-now have really gotten their shit together with their hardware. Maybe some indie devs ask madcatz to publish their titles? Only time will tell.

Mad catz were bad in the 90s and early 2000s... The past few years they got official licensed deals for like all the tournament sticks and other special controllers.

they should publish some indie fighting games. i know its a silly idea- but might as well milk their quality products (ie: TE sticks). and as quality as skullgirls looks, why not try the indie scene?

Ok... So does this make that Kinect Zoom add on that Microsoft bagged on into an official piece of hardware? Shouldn't it? :)

Considering how the console industry is atm with te big boys taking all the money while the lesser pubs are left to fight for scraps they wont find it easy.

Then again if they find their own little niche they could make it work, A flight sim mmo is certanly niche

The cat in the header is well aware of the pooch, and more than likely already had a quick attack/retreat plan in place. I love dogs, but they're not the stealthiest critters!

So now they'll make off brand games like their controllers or cereals.

I don't know I vowed to never buy a madcatz product again.

My cousins racing wheel stick broke off.

Their PS1 memory card didn't work right, so I would have to jiggle it in order to get it to save which was a huge hassle, sometimes it would take up to 40 minutes for me to be able to load and save a game.

I remember I had one of their controllers and it felt really cheap and uncomfortable.

They're going to have to work hard to lose the stigma of terrible 3rd party game accessory company for me.

Glad to hear that they've gotten their shit together in recent years. I grew up with their Sega Genesis crap, and N64 crap. Definitely crap.
