I like the late night Sunday post because it means that i know one of my stories is going to be seen on Monday morning when everyone gets to work and immeadiatley starts not doing work by reading Destructoid. Thus I am wont to save something extra special for the slot on some occasions and I can't think of a more deserving subject than Machinarium. Above we have a brief new trailer for the beautiful point-and-click puzzle/adventure game and below we have some new concept artwork. We've also been informed that the digital release date for the game is going to be Oct. 16.

In case you've missed our previous coverage of what looks to be one of the best looking games of the year Machinarium is from the creators of Samorost and Samorost 2, so you know the high quality pedigree is there. On top of that it stars a robot and features an amazingly unique animated look to it. Even more on top of that Chad "Loves awesome things" Concelmo loves the game. There's a demo level floating around out there somewhere that I've played, but I'm having trouble finding it. Maybe I just dreamed it. After all, what are dreams made of but wonderfully illustrated puzzle/adventure games?

Machinarium, the only game worth playing in October.

I played the hell out of this at PAX and boy did I suck. My friends stood by me patiently, marveling at how stupid I was at it :) It reminded me of Neverhood, which I loved.

I almost never buy a game day 1...

...but this is a day 1 buy for me.

Had forgotten about this game. Checked their website. Watched their trailer. Pre-ordered on the spot. I probably won't actually play it for a while, with Demon's Souls and Uncharted coming, but I felt compelled to put money down for it.

I've had this pre-ordered for a while. Brutal Legend + Machinarium will make a delightful October.

This game looks pretty good. I haven't played a good PC game in awhile. Not to detract the thread but does anyone think the original Mass Effect would be worth picking up too?

Definitely get Mass Effect. It's my favorite game of this generation so far.

On topic, Machinarium looks amazing.

I never played Samorost until today and I really enjoyed it.

So, yeah I'm looking forward to playing Machinarium.

Did you forget about Brutal Legend and Borderlands? Shame on you <3

This game looks mighty pretty, and I've never played a serious point-and-click adventure game before, so it might be worth giving a try. Looks fantastic visually.

When, oh when, will this be ported to XBLA?

Soon, I plead.

Activision needs to suffer. That's sounds like hyperbole, but I'm not even kidding. They really need to suffer some major setbacks, such as the crumbling of Infinity Ward that we are now witnessing, to understand that they can't continually ass-rape the consumer and developer alike and get away with it. Kudos to those two.
