Machinarium: Collector's Edition revealed photo

If you own a PC, it's doubtless that you've played or at least heard of Machinarium. The clever, amusing, undeniably endearing little adventure game now has a special edition on the way, and the contents have been revealed. If you love Machinarium, you may want to drop some dollars.

A UK price of £19.99 has been revealed, which is more than reasonable. Here's what you can expect to find in Machinarium: Collector's Edition:

  • 54-page walkthrough
  • Poster
  • Concept art booklet
  • Soundtrack CD with five never-before-heard bonus tracks

Seems very much worth the cash to me. If you're a fan of point-and-click adventure games, then this should be a definite buy. You won't be found wanting.

Now the question I have to ask myself is if it's worth buying, again, just for a poster art book and five more songs. Probably not, but if I DIDN'T already own it I would. Deffinatly.

The soundtrack alone is great, the game is exceptional. This is a solid package.

So is it coming to US? Considering that I got it for $9.99 during the website's Holiday Sale, and that I got it with Samarost2, I'd be willing to put down a few more bucks for it.

urggh, why did this shit come several months AFTER the release? Not buying it again, but I definitely would've purchased this if it was available from the start.

I thought this sounded like a good deal, but then I saw the bit that said:

54-page walkthrough

I have no time for this.

Firstly, walkthrough guides are in abundance on the internet for free (although they are not as beautifully illustrated.)

Secondly, including a walkthrough guide in the case is like sneaking a packet of cigarettes in a box of nicotine gum, the urge to use it would be insurmountable and would ultimately ruin the point of the game.

A concept art booklet, a tale from the Machinarium universe or the two Samarost games on a CD would have been a far more welcome inclusion than a walkthrough.

Playing through this game with two of my good friends (in one three or so hour sitting) was one of the best gaming experiences I had last year. This game is simply incredible. I never actually paid for it though (the copy I played belonged to one of my aforementioned bros) so this thing is definitely relevant to my interests. Here's hoping it comes stateside.

Unfortunate that this was released so late. Then again, it probably couldn't have been published without the profits from prior sales. US release, and Mac hybrid version please.

Bought from steam, but it is unplayable on two of my computers, so we stopped playing. Shame, it was the *only* game my wife liked.

Great game but I already spent 20 bucks in December for this. Again, really really fun game. Great buy. I wish they would have done this sooner.

Why the hell didn't this exist when the game first came out? I payed $20 for it when it first came out and, while it is an amazing game that it certainly worth at least $20, I couldn't bring myself to re-buy the game despite how much I want that concept art book.

Downloaded this game illegally the other day and been having a fantastic, if infuriating, time with it. Uninstalling now and preordered the Special Edition for a tasty £15.

Just found Machinarium: Special Edition on Amazon for £13. An even better reason to get this great game.

Wow, this to me is a nostalgic clash.
I remember playing this on Master System and only. I would never think this would eventually come to a Nintendo system.
Best regards, Anna, CEO of opensolaris iscsi initiator and itunes
