It's been brought to our attention that Machinarium, the game that Chad and I really liked while Anthony and Ashley did not, is now available for pre-order on Steam. (Protip: Chad and I are right, and I will capoeira knife fight Anthony into a volcano.)
The full game will be available on October 16th for $19.99, but pre-ordering now will get you the game for only $14.99. There's not much else to say, other than that I think $14.99 is a great deal for what I found to be an engrossing adventure game with a fantastic art style. If you haven't been following the game at all, it's being made by the makers of Samorost and Samorost 2. If you haven't played those games either, go do it now.
Who's going to be picking this up?
[Thanks Abel!]

If he's not playing Team Fortress 2 or getting into arguments about why PC gaming is superior, he's either off having a fancy dinner with lots of expensive wine, or sitting on the Destructoid IRC complaining that's he's not off having a fancy dinner.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I wish I hadn't read the preview linked above because it did help with the lightbulb/cone thing, though I think I would have figured that out. [*MILD SPOILERS RE: THE DEMO AHEAD*]
I mean, the little robot guy has a pretty obvious lightbulb socket on his head. I do agree with Anthony and Ashley about the difficulty of seeing things, The little hook-shaped part of the banister completely slipped past me because I was so focused on the yellow thing (which I originally thought would be used for extending the banister). It is a pity you can't do things in any order. Why do I have to get on the wheels AND THEN push the banister? Why can't I push it, then jump on the wheels?
[/MILD SPOILERS]
That said, I can deal with minor laziness on the developer's part. And given this recent news, here's hoping they bring it to iPhone at some point.
Good point! Nevermind then.
I think I thought the little yellow doorstop remained available at all times, but playing it again, I see it flies offscreen after being hit by the cart.
