Machinarium available for pre-purchase photo

It's been brought to our attention that Machinarium, the game that Chad and I really liked while Anthony and Ashley did not, is now available for pre-order on Steam. (Protip: Chad and I are right, and I will capoeira knife fight Anthony into a volcano.)

The full game will be available on October 16th for $19.99, but pre-ordering now will get you the game for only $14.99. There's not much else to say, other than that I think $14.99 is a great deal for what I found to be an engrossing adventure game with a fantastic art style. If you haven't been following the game at all, it's being made by the makers of Samorost and Samorost 2. If you haven't played those games either, go do it now.

Who's going to be picking this up?

[Thanks Abel!]

This will be a must buy for me but not from Steam. I'll either get it from their site or some other digital distributor like Impulse. Steam's prices suck for Europe and my wallet is a bit thin now, MW2 and all that...

I might be! I adored the demo, but I don't play too many PC games, so I'm not sure if I'll get this.

I am so getting it! I love this game since I knew it existed and I enojyed Samorost 1 and 2 so much. Plus, $14.99 is a great price.

I downloaded the demo yesterday but I haven't played it, I'll do that in my break between work and school, maybe I'll be available for support in the chad/jross vs davis/burch battle :O

Are you going to have to fight Chad for the right to face Anthony on the volcano or are you going to tag team his indie tart ass?

After playing the demo last night, I definitely pre-ordered this. I hesitated at first, but the game's charm was too much.

Just played the demo today. I'm not any big adventure games (actually, this is the first I've ever really tried).

I wish I hadn't read the preview linked above because it did help with the lightbulb/cone thing, though I think I would have figured that out. [*MILD SPOILERS RE: THE DEMO AHEAD*]

I mean, the little robot guy has a pretty obvious lightbulb socket on his head. I do agree with Anthony and Ashley about the difficulty of seeing things, The little hook-shaped part of the banister completely slipped past me because I was so focused on the yellow thing (which I originally thought would be used for extending the banister). It is a pity you can't do things in any order. Why do I have to get on the wheels AND THEN push the banister? Why can't I push it, then jump on the wheels?

[/MILD SPOILERS]

That said, I can deal with minor laziness on the developer's part. And given this recent news, here's hoping they bring it to iPhone at some point.

There should have been a 'fan of' between 'big' and 'adventure'.

Already pre-ordered. I thought the pre-order price was $17.99. I guess I will see what I get charged. :-) The demo is brilliant though, so I don't really care the final product costs.

@natetehgreat: Because if you pushed the banister first and then missed using the wheels within the half second it takes before the trolley comes the wheels would be lost forever.

@ Paroxysm,

Good point! Nevermind then.

I think I thought the little yellow doorstop remained available at all times, but playing it again, I see it flies offscreen after being hit by the cart.
