None of you played Boktai. Don't even try to play it off like you did, because I've seen the sales numbers.
Kojima was over at my house just yesterday and we were eating grilled cheese sandwiches, see, and he hands me this roll of paper. So, I'm like "Hideo, what's this?", to which he mumbled something ... probably in Japanese. Anyway, I unroll it (he never folds things, he always rolls stuff up like some kind of A1 scroll or something), and it's the sales numbers for the first three Boktai games. Do you know how many were sold? Two copies! Of all three games combined, only two copies were sold! After I asked him about it, he started crying and drooling bits of grilled cheese everywhere, so after I got Hideo cleaned up, and calmed him down with a glass of milk, I sent him on his merry way. I can't stand to see virtuoso game developers cry.
Shame on all of you people for not supporting the man, because he has once again proven his genius with the newest iteration of the Boktai series, Lunar Knights (the intro to which you can see above). I've been playing it a lot lately, and believe me when I say this is easily in the top three of all action-RPGs whose plot centers primarily on the extermination of space vampires and touch-screen based third person shooting games. Yeah, it's that good.
Unless you want my kitchen counter to be awash with the tears of Hideo "My Snake Is Bigger Than Yours" Kojima again, just go out and buy this game.
Holy crap that was sweet. Great music too. Boktai is one of the few GBA games I still have. I need to pick this game up soon. I also just got Scourge for $13 used, and it was a great bargain for what seems to be a nice little iso Metroid style game so far. Sonic Rush is cheap now too and I picked that up. Damn I love my DS.
Hey, don't blame me, I bought the first Boktai, and I liked it enough that I would have bought the second (and possibly imported the third) - if it wasn't for the fact that I have been unable to play the game due to my area always having bad weather or me having bad timing with other events.
So don't reprimand me, I loved Boktai...I just wish I could finish it without buying a sunlamp...
Your wish is my command. Well, if another round of stores doesn't have Hotel Dusk, I might just need to grab this just to throw money at something. I need my fix of DS games.
Have the first one nut never beat it. This is making me want to get the second one as well as this new one. Its nice to see they didn't use some J-Pop song to get the Japanophile to buy the game. Fact: Most Japanophiles have no idea what is being said in J-Pop songs and most of the lyrics are really corny if you translate to English.
you guys haven't played Lunar Knights yet? It is currently my favorite DS game and definitely in my top three of all time. Action RPG + 3D shmup levels + vampires is kickass. plus the cutscenes are actually IN the game, not just intros like all other DS games I've played. A surprising amount, actually. that's the only thing that would've made Castlevania PoR better
I played one of the Boktais...I had a jolly time with it until that winter thing happened. Then I couldn't play it because there was no sun, I'm still sitting at a boss to beat from years ago because I don't have any energy. Fuck seasonal changes.
I played and beat the first one. I wish I knew where it was; I'm totally not the kind of person who loses games, especially games based on going outside in the SUNSHINE.
I actually bought a small battery-powered blacklight so I could play the game at night. It was a pretty smart idea if I do say so myself. Boktai is definitely one of my favorite games. Take THAT, Mr. Cavalli, and your incorrect sales figures! HA-HA!
Boktai was one of my favorite games on the GBA. What was really good was I could plug Boktai 2 with Mega Man Battle Network 5: DS to unlock some powerups. It's a shame that they decided to rescript the 4th game and get rid of the Wifi. Yeah, Lunar Knights is Boktai DS: Django and Sabata in Japan and the only thing I know about the Wifi is you could hook it up with the next Mega Man game for the DS. But you can plug in either Boktai 1 or 2 with Lunar Knights and still use your solar sensor along with getting some special items at the shops. Nevertheless it is a very fun game.

Yet, considering I just found my long lost GBA after 2 years, I now better copiously feed it with some love...

Not sure about this game yet though..
I will also pimp this other game I've been playing - nanostray for the DS. great shmup

where you get a blacklight like that? I looked around and couldnt find any small ones, just like 18" ones.
