Lunar: Harmony of the Silver Star PSP remake new screens photo

Remember when we told you that a remake of the classic role-playing game Lunar: The Silver Star Story is coming to the PSP? We were anxious to see what this update would look like, especially with the reported isometric view , hand-drawn characters, and reworked graphics.

Now we can take a look at a handful of new screens, thanks to Siliconera. The battle system looks to use a little icon menu bar at the top right of the screen, with a character image and stats at the bottom. It's a cleaner, more open look than the earlier games. While there are only a few images, we can get a look at some of the lush backdrops and character art of the game, all of which look great. It looks as if all the exploration is done in the isometric view, and then things switch to the old side view for battle.

And here's a juicy rumor on the game: Siliconera says that XSEED may be picking up this title for North America. Fingers crossed!

Lunar fans, what do you think of these new screens?

Wow, they definitely made it look 10x better. Hopefully they added a few new bromides or something as well.

Well it's certainly different. Not sure if these screens really capture the essence of the SCD original or PS1/Saturn remakes...

The remakes on PS1 were already quite nice to look at.

I dunno, I rather liked the 2D look Lunar had going for it. I think I may have preferred it if they did something like SE did with the FF and FF II remakes.

Wow Lunar, this looks pretty good.

It be awesome if the Sega CD one was a secret unlockable.

I think they look beautiful. Be definitely getting this, I always wanted to play the original Lunar.

I'm digging the enemies, but am I the only one who liked the original sprites in SSSC better? Alex and Nash look off to me in this one.

I'm enjoying the locales/camera though. It feels like it will be a different experience. Do want!

Looking great. As long as they kept the same artist for the game, that's fine by me. :O)

Oooh! Pretty colors.

I hope they base it a bit more on the Sega CD version than the PS version. The music was so much better. Also, keep more of the frontier areas, and make the Vile Tribe more vile, rather than getting the player to sympathize with them.

This doesn't look nearly as bad as I was fearing. I don't know why the term isometric makes me so afraid... I mean, Diablo II was isometric. But then again so was Sonic 3D Blast.

This looks okay so far, and I like the condensed version of the stats and stuff.

I am the happiest panda! I only hope that it is as good as the PSX version. The GBA one made me want to give up on life.

I don't really care about the looks. It's all about the story and the characters. If they don't botch it up, it'll be fantastic!

I really like the look of this. I never played the original Lunar games so can't wait for this to be released.

Damn... now I'm not sure if I should continue to play the not-version I have or wait for this.

This game looks TERRIBLE! It'd be reasonably competent, if a bit artistically uninspired, if it were an original game. But it misses the mark entirely as a Lunar remake. Too bad. I really wish they'd just leave the game alone and work on something new. Not that it turned out well when they tried that on DS.
