Atlus has released a new trailer for Luminous Arc 2. It's looking like what we'd be able to expect based on the first one. I'm intrigued to see how well the "Engagement" mechanic works once it's available sans moonspeak. Could be just what some people need to get a portable strategy fix.

The game releases in North America on November 18th. As the trailer reminds you, it comes packaged with a soundtrack CD which, judging by the video, seems to be instrumental. Kind of a shame, as I really dig the song they used in the background. There's also an art book available as a pre-order bonus, as part of the "Atlus Spoils" campaign.

Damn you, Atlus. You know I can't resist your games, but you persist in putting out titles that I'll never have any hope of actually completing. You know how terrible I am at tactics and stuck that jiggly witch in there, just knowing it would be the death knell for my wallet, didn't you? You bastards.

"gain witch powers through engagement"...sounds like something women figured out a long time ago!

I can't keep up either... I'll probably let this one pass by.

The voice acting is wince-worthy, but that's the only negative that I'm seeing. I enjoyed the first one immensely, so I have no doubt that I'll be picking this up as well.

Haven't played the first one, so my expresion of this may be off base... but that trailer made me want to kill puppys. Yes... the step beyond just kicking them...

I'm just kind of tired of the hopeful youth-like main characters that'll say "We'll defeat you and save the world"... all willy-nilly-like. The song in the background was awesome, but what the trailer showed me was a typical stratigy game with whiny voices and not much creativity.

Am I being too harsh here?

Having played the first one, and figuring that the second one will be pretty much just like it, no, you are not far off Altair, and probably weren't harsh enough.
