Oooh! Ahhh! Isn’t that shiny Master Chief guy something else? Boy, I sure can’t wait until that Halo 3 comes out. I’m going to crap all over my pants when I can finally get me my Halos.
Actually, I‘m lying. The day that Halo 3, or anything Halo related comes out; I’ll be staying at home in my pajamas while playing Tetris. I honestly, in no way, could give a rat’s ass about this game.
Although, if I were the type of person to get all hot and bothered by the mere mention of Halo 3, then I’m pretty sure that this lone, single, and rather purty, picture of Master Chief would cause me to go into a frenzy of speculations. Like, for instance, is that Earth he is standing on? Possibly Wyoming?

I liked the first two Halo's but i cant bring myself to care about this one. chances are I'm going to still be playing Bioshock, Mass Effect and Blue Dragon when Halo comes out. "Shiny rehash 3" does not take priority over this

The only games I'm looking forward to are the same. Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, and Bioshock will be taking up most of my time when they come out.
Uber marine vs. alien types, does not fit into my schedule at all.

I couldn't agree with you more. And the beta was pretty fucking enjoyable as well, much more solid than halo 2 which i hated. The only problem is all the goddamned games coming out later this year. At least I can rest comfortably knowing that the PS3 won't be taking up too much of my time. Or my wii.

I think it looks pretty impressive, actually. Halo 2 was a bit of a drag, but I'm starting to think 3 might be badass. And before you say this isn't much of an improvement, I submit to you:
Granted, it's an incremental upgrade, but I'm willing to believe that Bungie can consistently keep up that look.

I think come the reviews, Dyson and the rest of y'all will be scampering, tail btwn legs, to grab it from the local GameWear.
Sometimes it's a hipster thing. Living in NYC, I see this attitude all the time in the Village. It's okay to like a band as long as you're part of an exclusive group, but once their album goes platinum, they're overrated. Beware the people who think everything is mediocre, because they have little to no frame of reference.
It also doesn't help that the people who hate something are far more likely to grouse about it than those who genuinely look forward to it.
And what's with all the comparisons between Halo 3 and Mass Effect. That's hella apples-n-oranges. That, and I'll remain cautious of Mass Effect until I'm convinced it can still scramble out of the Uncanny Valley:

I totally agree with you man on this one,and the time they show cased that screenshot was ages ago,even before the Beta,the screen shot does not look very different from the recent batch of screenshots on Ign.
I doubt even Metal gear is going to look something like the videos that they showcase...and according to IGN its coming on the 360 all right..
maybe that's why halo fans never played the "original epic", Marathon.
I'll play halo 3...since its likely my friend will buy it.(He loves teh haloes.)

I'm sure the rest of the crew will be all up ons when the game comes out for review, but I can guarantee you that I will be no where near it when it does. Not because of the hipster mentality, as LordRegulus suggests (although I do know what he's talking about), but because I just don't care about Halo.
I'm glad that Bungie's game is popular and all, but I played Halo 2 for about twelve minutes once, and was bored off my ass from it.
And, directing this at Dyson also, I can understand if Halo just isn't someone's thing. I'm actually a very critical, opinionated person, when it comes to arts and entertainment. If I don't like something, or it doesn't interest me, then I couldn't give a shit who agrees or disagrees. So, Dyson, I can respect that. There are tons of popular games that I've never played, nor do I have any desire to.
I love teh Haloes, though. :)
Ultra-realistic twitch-reaction shooters are great, but Halo is completely different. It's this difference that not only differentiates it from other more hardcore FPS's, but allows for players of all skills to come together and have a great time with eachother. Provided your not on LIVE, that is.
And yes, every time I read about how much Halo sucks on this blog (whose patrons and editors I respect), I will defend it. This fanboy loves his Halo.
