Luigi's death stare returns in new Mario Kart 8 TV ad

But has the laughter already stopped?

Oh Nintendo, you sure do love your memes. Whether it's the readiness of one's body or feeling just like a purple Pikmin, the platform holder isn't afraid to poke fun at itself on occasion.

The latest example of this playful attitude comes in the form of a Japanese television spot for Mario Kart 8, featuring Luigi's extolled scowl. Is it too late in the day, though? It seems like this bright star might have already burnt out. Maybe we're just flogging a dead horse here.
