Luigi is a playable race in Super Mario Galaxy! photo

Where I come from, my online haunt long before Destructoid, we have a certain rule -- thou shalt pay homage to the Green God. The superior Mario brother, Luigi, is something of a cult figure in my part of the 'hood, so it's with great pleasure that I wake up to this awesome news tidbit -- Luigi is a playable character in Super Mario Galaxy.

Upon completion of the game, it's been revealed that, much like with New Super Mario Brothers, you will be able to control the Holy One himself in all his grass-colored glory. Praise be! Subscribers to Luigism everywhere will be dancing in the streets and, hopefully, calling off the Luihad they'd declared.

A full scan of the guide, containing all the juicy details, is provided if you want to know more. Just clicky clicky, kids.

When will Peach (aka: Kerrigan), of the Zerg be revealed as playable?

In a couple weeks, methinks...

So, publishing unlockable songs, items, characters, levels, etc etc etc, are suddenly spoilers? Get over it you bunch of whiners, or else just GTFO the internets so that you won't accidentally see anything about games before you play them ever again.

I think many forget that people often play games for different reasons. Some, yes they like the pure experience of finding everything out on their own and not knowing absolutely anything going into games. The same goes for movies, some like knowing about them, others won't even watch previews of upcoming movies their excited about seeing. Nevertheless, to some people learning this about Luigi is somewhat of a spoiler, and yet to some it's not. Would anyone here wanted to have known that Master Chief dies at the end of Halo 3? I think not...

For me, this is a bit of spoiler definitely, and I don't like that I found it out (esp even before I even got to play the game). For me, Mario games are like ambrosia, one of the best video game drugs. I try to avoid information, even general information and videos etc from new Mario games just because I like to experience them fresh and explore the games myself.

I was actually really happy when I started playing through, realizing that all nintendo had shown is from about the first two hours of the game.

way to keep creativity on the down low, Nintendo. good job.
