This proves that cosplaying has gone too far.
It was one thing when people were getting all hot and bothered over cute girls dressed as Mai Shiranui (or when people were brought to tears over certain other costumes), but when store employees can't tell the difference between some crazy guy in a costume and a real Nintendo rep, you're just asking for trouble.
Apparently, at the Japanese Wii launch, one Japanese fan, dressed as Luigi, was mistaken for an actual Nintendo rep and was invited to perform the opening ceremonies, as well as presenting the first Wii sold. I imagine he also got some mad digits from the fly ladies in attendance, as nothing gets women more hot than tiny Asian men dressed as oversized Italian men.
Eventually, they realized he was just some crazy bystander and men in dark suits took him away, possibly to be beaten.
Hit the jump for a Japanese video of the Green Menace in action.
Listening to them talk is like hearing all of the ants I smashed as a child screaming at me in unison.
By the way, what the hell are they doing with those golden orbs that open up and drop down colored paper and a banner? That's how they launch game systems in Japan? Did they have a contest to see which fourth grade class at the local elementary school could come up with the best idea?
VIVA LA REVOLUTION!
Right after he was taken away, Luigi bent time & space and went on to ask Isaac Mendez about his comic book.
