Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals announced for Nintendo DS photo

Yes! More Lufia! I'm a fan of the series, so much so that I even remixed one of the Lufia II themes. So I'm very glad to hear that more Lufia is coming this year.

Natsume sends word that we'll get our hands on Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals at E3 next month. This RPG will feature six playable characters, each with their own attacks and abilities.

The Sinistrals, the four legendary harbingers of doom, are out to resurrect the ultimate evil and bring the world to its knees. It's up to the fiery monster hunter Maxim and his eclectic band of adventurers
to put a stop to them once and for all.

We know that this new Lufia will be released this Fall for the Nintendo DS for $29.99.

Who out there played Lufia on the SNES back in the day?

There's been talk of this for awhile now, but I didn't really believe it would happen! Excellent! Still have my copies of both SNES games, definitely gonna pick this up. Today is off to a super awesome start.

You just made my morning, Dale. I love Lufia. The DS kicks so much ass for RPGs, it's ridiculous!

Sorry that was the nerdspasm I got from reading this. The new character designs look alright (I'd have to see Selan to make a decision), but Guy looks too much like a manly version of a certain effeminate FFX character, and goggles on Tia... Huh?

Well whatever, I hope they add another 100 levels to the Ancient Dungeon.

If you owned an SNES and didn't play Lufia, you both suck and blow.

Man, I would LOVE another good Lufia. Lufia II was up there with FF III/VI and Chrono Trigger. Sadly, I sold my DS as I really didn't care for is.

I loved the old lufias. This is good news indeed... Though a full on HD iteration would be awesome too. But this will do nicely!

Sorry to burst your bubble, everyone. But...

So, yeah. The game isn't a remake as much as a standard Action-RPG with the LufiaII/EstopolisII story tacked on... with much less content.

I've never played any of the Lufia games. Someone sell me on the series, please.

I had never heard of Lufia. But that's probably because I haven't been a 'hardcore' gamer for much. Looks sexy.

I remember hearing about this a while back.

Maybe we'll get the SaGa 2 remake as well?

WTF does a SNES JRPG have to do with being a "hardcore" gamer type person?

God I loved this series back in the day I have been waiting for a new entry in this and BoF for years now. Wish they would make a console game but I will take what I get.

Lufia II is one of my favorite RPGs. Damn that was a great game. I didn't know this was going to be happening and now I wish I owned a DS.

@Tye The Czar

Yeah, I had read that on Siliconera as well. I'm not looking forward to the game because I don't think it will be anything like the Lufia I once loved.

I LOOOOOOVEEDDD Lufia 2! If the music and puzzles are as good as they have been in the past, I have no doubt this will be a fun RPG. So excited!!

I played ALL FOUR Lufia games that have come out, including the one on the GBC and GBA. Those were pretty mediocre, which makes me slightly hesitant, but hope that since it's been a while that we'll see a good, solid RPG.

What confuses me, is this a remake? Reimagining of Lufia 2? Will they actually explain what happens to Tia?Also they could just make this game the 100 floor dungeon and I would be satisfied.

Fuck yeah! I played Lufia and Lufia 2 back in the day! I even used the handle "Maxim" for a while in AOL chats.

Probably won't ever play this though, sadly lol.

played the 2 on SNES but missed the one on GBA. First one was decent enough tho just really a bare meat and potato's RPG but the 2nd one damned sweet (one of the best snes rpgs that made it out here)
