Ludum Dare 30, the indie game jam, has officially begun! For the next 72 hours, many amateur (and professional) game developers are going to hunker down and do their best to create a game focused around a central theme. The theme for LD30 is "Connected Worlds." What that means is up to each individual, which is largely what makes these jams so gosh darn great!

A lot of great stuff always comes from Ludum Dare, and I frankly can't wait to see what comes out of this one. Don't worry about former game developing experience or anything of the sort - practice is practice! Even if you don't finish but really enjoy your idea, keep going with it! Sometimes all you need is that spark.

So, who will be participating in Ludum Dare 30?

Presenting Lovesick, a game about projectile wedding-night vomit

I'm filing this one under "You'd be stupid not to cover it, Jordan." Lovesick is a simple, physics-driven two-player game for PC and Mac in which a bride and groom explode out of both ends after eating undercooked shrimp. Cla...more

I played a bunch of bizarre first-person shooters so you don't have to

You remember Superhot, don't you? It's a first-person shooter in which time progresses at a normal speed only when you move. Or how about Receiver? It had somewhat realistic gun handling that made for a rewarding experience. ...more
