LucasArts producer would 'love' Super Star Wars on 360 photo

Someone, somewhere mentioned "Super Star Wars" and "Xbox 360" in the same sentence. Oh man! I guess that means it's totally going to happen, right guys!? The person in question was LucasArts executive producer Haden Blackman, who mentioned the sentiment to CVG.

"There are certainly some ideas we've kicked around [with the original trilogy] and we're always trying to capture the spirit of some of those big moments from the films," he says. On the flipside, "We're also interested -- and this is something that comes from George [Lucas] -- in taking Star Wars in new directions, not just always going back and rehashing what has been done before."

"But at the same time I would love to see a Super Star Wars on the Xbox 360, so I think anything is possible." So, basically, what you're saying is y'all want to take the franchise in all directions, at least as far as videogames are concerned?

Porting the classic games to PSN and XBLA would make a lot of sense, especially since those titles are already out for WiiWare. And they'd sell well, I would imagine. Kind of a non-story, I know, but I couldn't resist bringing up the SNES Star Wars games. Has anyone actually beaten them?

They already brought Dark Forces to the PSn so I think It'd be cool even though I wouldn't buy 'em cause I suck at that game.

However if I didn't have access to a N64 and Shadows Of The Empire I'd totally be all for that game going to all 3 systems game marketplaces.

I think I beat Empire at some point, but the final flying levels of SSW and SROTJ were frustratingly difficult.

Do want. I didn't play that game nearly enough when I was a kid.

No. No one has ever beaten them. Also, yes. Bring these back and let me die a million more times trying to beat them.

There's a typo in the title. It should read 'AwesomeExMachina would freakin' love' Super Star Wars on 360.'

I played those games like crazy. Return of the Jedi is so broken. I tried to beat it awhile back. Screw that Ewok level. I hate that level so much. Climbing trees with arrows doesn't work damn it.

I don't know how I beat it when I was younger.

Man what I would do to see the Star Wars Arcade game I used to play at Chuckie Cheese come to the 360 Kinect. That would be incredible!

My friend Andy and I beat them when we were in middle school. It took the two of us switching off and we spent a week working through all 3. All I can say is FUCK THE BOUNTY HUNTERS IN CLOUD CITY. THAT. SHIT. SUCKED.

I beat the original Super Star Wars back in elementary school.

(Granted, it was on "easy" mode, and I did it with a friend. We took turns memorizing various parts of the levels, and would trade-off at those parts. Took us a couple weeks one summer...)

And, of course, now that they're on WiiWare I went through the entire trilogy in a week. Managed to beat the first one on Normal, but I think I had to go back to Easy for the latter two...

When I was a kid I was allowed to rent an SNES a couple times a year and I almost always got one of these games. I would marathon for an entire weekend and beat Star Wars but never got to the end of Empire. A few months ago I bought them on Wiware and they were still fun but I haven't been compelled to complete either of them

I beat all three when I was younger. That shit was hard as hell at the time too, so I doubt I'll ever try to do it again.

@JohnMigle: there's a perfect port of the original wireframe Star Wars arcade game on the pre order disc for Rougue Squadron III on gamecube. I found it when I was going through old boxes the other day and had a blast playing it on my wii. The only thing missing from the arcade is the flight controller joystick which just feels so awesome

I clocked the set, good fun games. Maybe these games would go good as a remake, those Shadow Complex GFX sure would be nice. :3

I beat all of them, but I don't remember them being that difficult. Of course, I was obsessed with both Nintendo and Star Wars at the time, so if I had any difficulties I probably persevered without noticing. These were really awesome games though, I'd love to see them rereleased. With the multiple characters available for each game, it'd be pretty awesome to have co-op added to them, although I really like the original graphics.

I recently played Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures which I believe is built on the same engine. I beat it in a day (on easy) and I might play through on hard. I have heard the games are of a similar difficulty. The only parts I found difficult were the mode 7 areas. They were unforgiving and confusing.

I'd rather just see KotorII on Steam thanks.

I never played the first one, but I beat both Empire and Return. The platforming levels weren't too difficult but some of the third-person vehicular stages were absolute nightmares.

Unless they make all new games, I wouldn't be interested... considering I still own all 3 games for the SNES. Also... the SNES has a better d-pad!

I've beaten all 3 of these games. I have my original cartridges too. Man, I loved these so much.

I'd be willing to pay to download them from XBL or PSN to have another go. Heck, throw in some trophy/achievement support and you'd definitely make some quick cash from me!

I did, all 3 of them back in the 90s, took me quite a while and several rentals though, the RotJ final battle was totally biased against you, it was brutal!.

I actually beat these as a kid. Well, I remember beating Super Return of the Jedi. Thank God for level passwords. Give these the same HD treatment as Earthworm Jim and I'd buy all three ASAP.
