Or shit, even if they're just going to put more of their classic adventure games on Steam, that'd be great. Grim Fandango and Full Throttle please.
Isn't The Dig already on there? Give me Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, and Day of the Tentacle HD on Steam/XBLA/PSN
@CrimsonNinja6: nnnnoooooooo
It's a shame there's no been any decent sci-fi space sims for a while. If there's any genre that needs to come back in a big way, that's the one.
I....
I might actually buy the bluerays just to show my thanks....
read: STAR WARS, STAR WARS, STAR WARS, STAR WARS.
i hope i'm wrong, because yes LA did put out some good games once upon a time, but most of them weren't STAR WARS games. i realise they have attempted to launch new IP in the last decade, and i realise it didn't go so well, but LA will never be considered as great as they once were if they do nothing but milk one 30 year old license.
I might celebrate a new X-Wing game, if only because it might help to a resurgence of better franchises, like Freespace.
If anything, I think a new Battlefront game from a team that has nothing to do with Battlefront is a more likely choice... some missions could take place in space, which would explain the job descriptions.
Imperial Commando
KotOR III
Battlefront III
If this list is correct then Lucasarts win my heart back.
Like the Death-star scene before shooting the missile at the vent aiming with the Wii U controller...
Like in the movie with the visor thingie.
This is like saying Square's titles are hit and miss even though Square's doesn't develop 100% of the titles with their name branded on them and acts as publisher to other developers (specially now, with their purchase of Eidos). The quality of those games, in turn, isn't Square's fault -Like the mind fuck we got after Mindjack came out and so few seemed to realize Square didn't actually MAKE the game.
So given that a lot of games get branded Lucas Arts -and even have Star Wars in the title- a good 90% (more or less) of the games in the last 10 years (at least) aren't developed by Lucas Arts(and even when double checking I found some of the old ones people loved weren't, like X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter), or were only partly developed by them. The only hitch to my saying this is that -usually- Lucas has his nuts over anything branded with his properties and wants to them to fall in line with some sort of standard -but that's usually story based control and not quality of product based control (I believe).
But yeah, the few that have been developed by Lucas Arts lately really are very hit or miss in quality, Like The Force Unleashed games and The Starfighter series.
Any way.. I'm hoping the FPS is either a Republic Commando's game, A new Battlefront game or -what I'm really hoping for most- a new game in the Dark Forces/Jedi Academy series.
For the Aeriel Combat I'm certainly hoping for X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter, but its hard to guess this sort of thing when Lucas gave us games like Starfighter and its sequel (which were okay) and that WW2 flyer (which was developed by Totally Games, who made X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter). His head could be anywhere in the clouds.
i'm just going to come out and say it: point and click isn't what it used to be. even taking into account the fact that telltale have made some decent games in the past few years i think the format has been largely superseded. if a new monkey island game is ever released, i would truly rather it be an action/adventure game than a point and click (obviously more adventure than action would be the appropriate mix!).
