LucasArts and BioWare will announce joint project on October 21st photo

Well, it's not like this is a big secret, but at least now we have an official date to rely on: October 21st will bring a press reveal at the LucasArts offices of the joint project between them and BioWare, widely believed to be an MMO set in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic universe. From Gamasutra:

The postcard, which proclaims "The wait is over" and promises "the official unveiling of the game that's been rumored about for years," makes no explicit reference to Star Wars. It is branded with the LucasArts and BioWare logos and depicts floating robots and hooded figures in futuristic interior locations reminiscent of the sci-fi franchise.

Well, at least we can start discussing it openly with more than scant details soon. EA CEO John Riccitiello has spoken of the project as "quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry", and while that sounds like Denis Dyack-grade hype, there may be some truth to it, considering the glut of Star Wars fans out there. What do you hope this MMO will offer?

[Thanks, Joe]

FUCK!
Screw this, just give me KOTOR 3.
If you can't, then at least make a Console Version of this MMO that supports Keyboard and Mouse.

The only game that's been rumored for years is KOTOR 3. The KOTOR MMO rumor is fairly new. So, I'm hoping it's just KOTOR 3, and the MMO will be announced later. Or maybe it's both.

Actually it's an Ewoks:Battle For Endor MMO. Yup...just Ewoks...theres a yub-nub button and a gooinda button and a chortley kinda noisey loo-loo! button. And that's it.

True story.

Yub-to the muthafuckin-nub.

If/when the MMO comes out, no one will ever see me again. I will die of dehydration from playing the game too much.

CRAP! This is bad, if it's a MMO game then those of us who are waiting on the second part of Mass Effect are looking at a long time before it arrives.

Please don't let this be a MMO and let it be something that they do well, possible with a multi player mode like Fable II.

I think Bioware's priorities should be 1. Finishing the Mass Effect trilogy in this generation of hardware. 2. A really good KOTOR 3 3. A MMORPG.

A MMORPG takes a lot of time and resources to develop and support. As much as I'd love to see a console mmo that doesn't play like EQ or WOW, I'd rather see their other games finished in a timely manner. Also, the risk entailed with a new MMO project is HUGE (especially if they aim at the untested console market)... who would want to live in a world without Bioware?
