Luc Bernard has released the world's first gameplay video for his upcoming iPhone game Mecho Wars. Well, it claims to be a gameplay video, but the first few minutes of footage is just Bernard talking about a girl he kissed. He manages to go for over four minutes before showing anything, but eventually some gameplay happens and it looks ... not too terrible.
The game is very clearly taking all its cues from Advance Wars, but perhaps being more derivative and less original will work in Bernard's favor. The graphics are a work in progress, so hopefully the action, especially in the battle scenes, will step up a little before the game is released. Luc's impressive visual style is as good as always.
Check out the video and let us know what you think. I can say, without a doubt, that I believe this game will be better than Eternity's Child.

He speaks very quietly..........Aldous Snow from Infant Sorrow?
Reminds me of Advance Wars, looks not too shabby but I guess we have to see how it controls! I own no Iphone though, stupid Rogers being the only carrier :(
Still a twat until proven otherwise, the industry doesn't need people who are active attention whores.
That aside, game looks like AW.lite, or just a sprite mod. So i choose to be be critical, and say this. Luc, you have an art style, I will hand you that, but I don't think you have what it takes to MAKE games. But by all means, prove me wrong. In fact, i would highly enjoy you do prove me wrong.
What an attention whore. Although I'm a little cautious about the gameplay, seeing how we mostly see the video screen and nothing else. As for the game itself, it looks a little too much like Advance Wars.

Man this dude is bitter. Still his artwork is fantastic. I think his backgrounds are far superior to his character design though.
Oh wait...
also, I believe there is a difference between "taking all its cues from" and "creating an Advance Wars skin", heh

Looks meh. As usual I like the art style, but why do I need to play an inferior Advance Wars when I have... Advance Wars?
but on a side note I hope his art is more.....varied in the future....
