If there's three things we love at Destructoid it's games, beer, and sitting down. That's why we're proud to announced that we've teamed up with LoveSAC, makers of alternative furniture and the GamerSac gaming chair, for the First Annual LoveSAC NES Classic!
The event will take place at Barcade in Brooklyn, NY on November 16 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will pit players against one another in a series of speed runs in classic 8-bit Nintendo games, including Super Mario Bros. 3 and ExciteBike. Side tournaments featuring the Super Nintendo versions of Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Mario Kart.
Winners will take home prizes, including a grand prize of a fully-loaded GamerSac and -- are you sitting down? -- a bronzed NES Powerglove as a trophy.
While Destructoid staff is likely not eligible to participate, we never turn down the chance to drink, game, and have a good time. With that in mind, Tri-State Area Dtoiders, clear your calendars for Sunday, November 16. I'll be making the trip back up to my home state of New York for the event, and you can bet you'll see a few other familiar faces.
If you're looking to participate in the event, send an email to LoveSacNESclassic @ gmail.com with the subject line "registration." And if you're just looking to come out and have a good time, let me know!
