LOTR online release date revealed photo

Thanks to a late night phone call from industry ninja Robert Summa, Dtoid has some late night goodies for you Middle Earth junkies. During his adventures in Vegas this week, it seems he overheard some discussion on the confirmation of the release date of Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar. Preorders will begin on January 25th and the game hits shelves on April 24th.

If you aren't quite sure that LOTR is going to grow hair on your toes, you could always give the beta a spin. You also could go play Burning Crusade with 2 million other people and loftily chuckle at the idea that other MMO's even bother to exist.

Meh, I'll pass on this and WoW. My brother had beta WoW when it was out and let me play. I got bored to tears in about 5-10 minutes. Releaseing a game like it but with Hobbits instead of Gnomes doesn't make me want to buy it. I havn't played LoTR beta so if anyone has, is there anything different about it from WoW other then different character models?

Um I guess that makes handling quests easier but I don't see how that changes game play. I still see it doing quests like "Kill 5 boars and bring their skins to me" kind of quests. I'm surprised that people actually care about the story of an MMO.
