Lost Planet is finally out, and here's the party to prove it photo

If you haven't been living in a cave, you may have noticed that Capcom's Lost Planet came out today. To celebrate that fact, Capcom held their Lost Planet launch party last night in San Francisco.  To call the event a mere launch party, though, would be a massive understatement. You see, Capcom doesn't throw tiny little launch parties, they throw gigantic warehouse-rave launch parties. Check out the pictures to see how Capcom rolls.

Update 1: Here's the official word on the turnout:

The event drew over 1,000 gamers last night. There were 96 Xbox 360s wired for people to play Lost Planet and there were approximately 180 people that competed in multiplayer sessions to win the top 8 spots to move on the finals against the developers themselves.

Checkout Capcom's blog for more deets.

Game looks awesome, party based around game.. not so awesome. Hopefully, at the event, playing Lost Planet was an afterthought because watching people game is far from entertaining.

Everyone knows rave parties exist soley to get high and have unprotected sex. Like you need an excuse in the first place.

Haha that's hilarious. That's totally me while I was trying to get through the final round of the multiplayer competition where I got my ass handed to me. I asked the guy to the right of me (in the blue) if he played much of the multiplayer demo, and he responded in a sort of creepy tone, "I'm obsessesed". He got first place.

At least I got this great pic with Inafune-san:

I can't wait to live in California... I'll be so much closer to all of the video game-related events. Except the Nintendo World stuff they do in New York.
