Lost Planet coming to PS3 loaded with content photo

It's been almost a year since Xbox 360 owners first had their chances to get chilly with Capcom's Lost Planet. The game received decent reviews and community feedback, although we only gave it a lukewarm reception. Still, that was enough to warrant a subsequent PC release, and a slew of updates and downloadable content.

Now Japanese PlayStation 3 owners will get a chance to strap into a Vital Suit, when the game lands on store shelves on February 21, 2008. The PS3 version will ship with all of the bonus content that was found in the PC version (the Resident Evil 4 style camera), as well as all of the downloadable multiplayer maps found in the Xbox 360 version.

The last to market, it looks like this will be the definitive version of Lost Planet, provided it's not a sloppy port to Sony's hardware (as we've seen happen in the past). No word yet on a U.S. release, but we're sure it can't be too far behind. Now where the heck is this Lost Planet Colonies we keep hearing so little about ...

The game was good... but the big snowball of a world was neither fun nor interesting.

Yeah Port! Oh wait... when is someone going to construct a good tool set and engine for the PS3 developers so we stop getting ports and get more direct designed for games....

I thought it was decent. I've had no desire to replay it though. Back in the day the demo was great since it was pre gears of war it was one of the 1st 360 games that didn't look like an upscaled xbox game covered in oil.

I still haven't beat it, but I like it a bunch... despite the agonizing "reload" animations

I guess being last to the party does have its advantages.

There should be a betting line as to whether this 360 to PS3 port will end up like most and just blow.

With all the messed up PS3 ports as of late, I'm hesitant to throw in my lot with the PS3 version.

Capcom is supposed to have a crossplatform engine for PS3/360/PC simultaneous development. Lost Planet is made on that engine, so I believe this would be the first test of how this engine runs on PS3. DMC4 and RE5 are being made on that engine as well.

@Wedge, it is? that's great news for sony. Because apparently DMC4 is looking pretty good.
