Lost Planet 2 co-op demo hits Xbox LIVE next week photo

It looks like Xbox LIVE Gold members will be able to connect with four buddies and shoot the crap out of giant, icy monsters next week.

Capcom has revealed that a Lost Planet 2 cooperative demo will be made available for Xbox LIVE Gold members on August 19. Silver members can either pony up to upgrade to Gold, or patiently wait a week when the demo becomes available to all on August 26.

From the sounds of things, it appears the demo is the same as what Capcom had on display at E3, a four-on-one battle against a gigantic insect creature. This is not an easy battle to win -- Dale, Hamza, and I fought hard to take down the beast, failing at least once (or twice) in the process. The results of victory were worth it, though; I'll let you find out what I mean on your own. Just don't take your eye off the creature, even after it falls.

No word on demos for the PlayStation 3 or PC.

I'm on the fence about this one, the 1st one was good.... but there was just something about it that was a bit "off" - I can't put my finger on it but I enjoyed playing it but kind of subconciously said "don't buy it"

Weird.

So this is a five player game? If I "connect with four buddies" it should be.

Cool.

@Sexual
I agree. For me, it was the simple fact that it had no soul (IE: boring). Even the multiplayer was boring.

if there's something I want to see more in videogames, it's taking down giant beasts a hundred (or even a thousand) times your own size by yourself or with friends. this demo will decide whether I buy this game or not, so I'm obviously hoping for the best here. it comes out just one day before it's back to school for me, though. >_<
