Lord of the Rings: War in the North demo OnLive exclusive photo

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North may be the Tolkien experience gamers have been waiting for, but if you're not quite sold don't expect to find a demo in the usual spots. OnLive currently has an exclusive on a 30 minute trial version of the game. So, if you have a desire to bludgeon a few orcs into a sanguine pulp before you decide if this one is worth a purchase or not, you'll have to grit your teeth and play via the almighty cloud.

War in the North hit North American shelves yesterday and will be out in Europe by this time next week. While the game will be available on the mainland on November 9th, unfortunately, UK audiences will have to wait until the 25th to get their hands on the copy. Until then you'll just have to enjoy the demo I suppose.

Onlive is the perfect solution for being able to get a real demo of a PC game. It lets you try the FULL game for 30 minutes. This applies to any game they have a demo option on. I feel like they should adjust the time limit based on the game. Maybe an hour demo for the really long games and 15 minutes for the arcade shooters and side-scrollers.

I'm just glad there is finally a solution for this issue. I hate relying on reviews and PC gamers can't exactly go rent the game and try it. They have to rely on hoping the developers release a GOOD demo or they have to download it illegally in order to tell if they like it enough to buy it. Thank you Onlive!

I like that OnLive is acquiring exclusives to entice people to their service, but they definitely need something of a larger budget title. Not many people even know War in the North exists.

No big loss. It's getting shitty reviews all around, and from the descriptions of the bad design and mechanics, I wouldn't even be interested in a demo.

The game looks awesome, but Olive does not, so I passed. Will just do what normal people do.

I'm liking onLive just for this exact feature.

It saved me $40 I would have spent on Space Marine, but convinced me to purchase a few other titles on Steam.

technically they have trials for every game on their library and a lot of them don't have demos, so this really isn't news just because thier twitter said so.
