Invizimals and Eye of Judgment are looking like two hot PSP properties, using the portable system's camera peripheral to either scan cards or hunt for invisible creatures. The only problem is, it's looking like neither of them will work with the PSPgo, since the camera doesn't fit on the redesigned machine.

The chaps working behind the cool-but-silly augmented reality game Invizimals has confirmed that its game will not work with the PSPgo at launch. The original PSP had the camera mounted on top of it, but the PSPgo's sliding screen wouldn't be able to move if the peripheral were attached. The developers are trying to find a workaround, but it won't be ready in time for launch.

"The camera will work with the go with an attachment," the devs have told Kotaku. "We are looking into it, but it's a matter of logistics."

This is, of course, the problem when you throw a complete redesign at people five years into a system's lifespan. I do hope that the boxes for Eye of Judgment and Invizimals will warn consumers that their games won't work with the newest PSP.

The camera add-on fails, i'm sure the game would work just fine.

Isn't the PSP Go download only? So they won't need to print that on the boxes because they're already incompatible with it, right?

Too true, no one was going to buy them, anyway. Oh, wait, I forgot...casual gamers are in the majority, now, so they'll fly off the shelves.

Casual Gamer...it's the new synonym for asshole!!

What's the old one? Ravana?

I don't think there's anything casual about a camera-based tabletop card collecting/battling game. In fact, it might just be the most niche proposition imaginable.

And as for Invizimals, that'll probably outsell the PSPgo.

It baffles me why the PSP-GO hasn't got a built in camera.... The DSi has one, the PSP-go is 250... and it seems ideal for it.

FAIL! I want a Go but do want to check out invisimals. I'm not a "casual gamer", I've been playing games since 87 and spend more than I care to admit time and money on "gaming related" items. I am a gamer. Period. However there is something interesting about invisimals that makes me intrigued.

I was under the impression, and I'm about 100% sure that I read it on this site, that Eye of Judgment for PSP does not use the camera in any way.

You mean along with every other boxed game, right? If you're buyin this game in a box for the Go, the camera attachment is the least of your worries.
