Them jaggied edges.
No AA.
720p.
Those Muddy Textures.
those Low poly models.
Grim Dark oh so real.
It's over Ubisoft is finished!
Besides, we do have an actuall DEMO with REAL footage of the game, sooooooo
Blahblahblahblah it's blurry as hell because the image is heavily compressed so the image quality has degraded, it's the exact same when you upload to facebook or what ever.
Why would pointing out the existence of high-end PCs be "elitism"? If anything, completely disregarding it is the "console elitism".
Keep that shit in /v/.
@Article
I was hype for this but then I began thinking about it and I realised that we haven't actually seen something that couldn't be scripted. Still, could be a cool game.
I don't see what's 'next gen' about this. They confirmed it runs on PS3 and 360 and there's nothing in the trailer or this shot that hasn't been seen elsewhere before, at least in terms of the graphics. The only impressive thing is that unlike every other open world game, pedestrians' faces are made of more than five polygons and one 50x50 texture.
t's time for PC to reclaim its dominance, PC MASTER RACE UNITE! #Darksiders2
The above WatchDogs shot looks like one of the HD Reworks mods for GTA IV. Souped-up PCs have been able to do this for quite a while now.
Hell, Witcher 2 on highest settings looked good, but then after installing some of those 5-7GB texture mods, the game became unreal.
I hope we get a port to the next-gen consoles as well, if this game is for the current generation. The PC is always current and next-gen, so we're/they're okay on that front.
depending on your level of cynicism you could apply that statement to pretty much anything we saw of any game at E3.
@ Occams electric toothbrush
the PC master race will rise to victory no matter how meta your hipster comedy might be.
This is true. We are reaching a point where screenshots are pretty inadequate, especially since higher-end effects tend to involve animation, lighting, and particles.
Um, guys...if you complaining about the image looking blurry hold on to you next-gen ballz. In the next gen of console and PC graphics (yes, PCer's too) there will see more 'depth of field' camera tricks used.
TO BE CLEAR: I'M NOT SAYING THAT IS WHAT YOU SEE IN THAT IMAGE. I'M SAYING GET USED TO BLURRY! DEPTH OF FIELD IS THE NEW LENS FLARE...MOST GAMES WILL HAVE IT...NOBODY ON THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM CARES IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!
i've never been one of those people who complain about "bloom" if they even suspect it's used in a game. i think it mostly looks good. lens flare is okay too sometimes. what i'm getting at is that these effects do work a lot of the time despite their bad press, which is why they are used so ubiquitously in modern games. effects like ambient occlusion and HDR lighting are also part of a bigger picture (literally) that most gamers take for granted.
from your comment i'm not sure where you stand, but personally i'm sick of people complaining about this stuff. depth of field is perhaps the ultimate 2D effect, as especially in open areas IRL depth of field plays a big part in what we see, and makes images much more realistic and beautiful. the problem as you pointed out is that the game can only guess where we're actually looking. the only complete solution is 3D, which uses our eyes to generate the depth focus effect much more dynamically. gamers hated that even more.
TLDR: in the quest for the most realistic graphics, people essentially don't know what they want.

i was thinking the exact same thing, kinda like deus ex:HR's "open world" maps. i for one would love that. smaller but more focused areas with more to explore or use to your advantages, rather than a large open world where you cant really go in anything.
Just look when they played Far Cry 3 on PS3, not as good though, probably not quite finished on PS3... either way.
