Not surprising, the all-powerful Game Informer looks like it'll have the scoop on Dead Space 2 in its next issue, which hits stands (and your mailboxes) on or around December 16.
In the meantime, the magazine is hyping up its preview with what appears to be the first official image of the game. Sure, it's just concept art (although if the game was styled like that... wow!), but it does reveal a few things.
For one, it looks like the game's main monster-slicing bad ass, Isaac Clarke, is a getting a bit of a makeover. Second, it looks like he won't hesitate to dropkick some Necromorph fools in Visceral's forthcoming sequel.
It's a nice tease, and as a fan of the series (both the original and the solid Wii shooter), I can't wait to see more. Oh, and hey, did you hear the game will have a (as yet unannounced) multiplayer mode? I call dibs on Necromorphs!

So just whack off all the other teams' limbs and weave around their stumbling torsos to bring the flag back to base! They'll lose points if they suicide to respawn with working guns!
This is not a good idea.
You shittin' me? That sounds fantastic.
Holy shit, if that's a second player character for the fabled co-op mode, I will curse the heavens and lose most of my faith in Dead Space 2 being scary.
Hey! You got your Zone of the Enders in my Dead Space 2!
I'm not into it
Space Marine outfit. Looked like a toilet.
And I think it only makes sense that, given his experiences, Isaac - if that is him - would upgrade before taking on the Necromorphs.
@Vice: I'm with you on that. Jumping backwards in a zero-G environment, propelling himself with some sort of rocket boot.
I'm super stoked for Dead Space 2.:)
@randombullseye:
If you're referring to Isaac getting attacked by a very zombied up ex-girlfriend, then no, you didn't get a bad ending. It's been debated that it was all a hallucination brought on by his madness / slight infection. It didn't even look like a normal Necromorph...
ps: I love you Dead Space!
I'm also guessing that multiplayer will be predominantly co-op and even the possible chance to play characters other than Isaac in the single game. I don't see why anyone would laugh or groan over the inclusion of additional gameplay elements as long as the single player game isn't affected by it like how Uncharted 2 was handled.
I hope you're not watching JJBATAS,are you?
Besides that, hope we finally get better, cooler weapons(not saying that the original six sucked, just wanted more variety),and more grunting from Isaac(?).
Maybe they're going with an Aliens thing with it.
