While I personally have yet to be able to beat a single level in Capcom's Mega Man 9, I know some of you have seen it beginning to end. More than once. And fast. But you haven't seen everything yet. In a recent chat, Capcom's Seth Killian told Jonathan Holmes there's one last thing that you might have missed.
"As far as I know," he said, "nobody has discovered it. While it's a secret, I think the word "secret" has people hoping for too much, so for that I should apologize. It's perhaps more of an 'amusing nugget'?"
Killian says he knew it would take awhile to discover, but he's "completely confident" someone eventually will. But even after issuing multiple threats, he's still not talking.
"I miss the days when discovering everything about a game meant more than just reading a FAQ online," he laments.
We'll be posting a full and quick Q&A on all topics Capcom with Killian tomorrow. In the meantime, fire up Mega Man 9 and start looking. Don't let Seth down.
also, i would like a nugget.
Zero appearing in background for a split second?
Considering the ridiculous scores people have posted for this game, I am very surprised no one's noticed it.
On the other hand, I hope its not something we've all noticed as amusing or cute, but never bothered to gush to Seth Killian about...
Last time I checked the Wii Leaderboard in October, I think there were a few complete or near complete individuals with regards to the achievements. There are some insane gamers out there.
If you can make it through the game without the health items, you are a serious mutha.
One day I will take some serious time to play Mega Man 9. I was mostly joking...although I haven't beaten a single stage yet. ;)
Maybe if there was a clue of sorts to give players a idea.

My guess to the secret is...
...that since they're making it so great/epic is that there is a DLC in the game, NOT on the DLC purchase page. But rather in the game for FREE to anyone that can locate it. Find it and it gets downloaded (granted you had a net' connection)
Perhaps a 16-bit version of MM9, or a create a stage mode with a create a boss included.
To go along with your idea; they'll patch in a "secret" E-Tank later after people raise hell about "not being able to find it". Game longevity, GO!
For anyone that can't beat a level, I recommend Concrete Man's stage. I think there was a reason it was the demo's stage.
I bet there is some serious Rock 'n Roll action, if you know what I mean. *wink*
As to the main topic, I'm pretty sure it's going to be something completely underwhelming as well. Althoiugh who knows, maybe they hid the Hadouken powerup in there somewhere!
I've played through multiple times while looking, but with no results. I assumed it would be X punching Mega in the face or somehting, and then making some joke about 9/X/10.
If he gave a clue, it would be cool. But it is probably going to found and underwhelm the crazy people who are expecting awesome.
I found Mega Man 9 pretty tough, and I've beaten all of them. Even if you think it's easier than most, I don't see how it could be considered easier than MM7. That one was a breeze.
Order of difficulty...
MM1 (toughest), MM8, MM3, MM9, MM2, MM6, MM5, MM4, MM7
at least in my opinion...
@Danger Mouse
Pssh, 8 is a cakewalk, aside from that stupid boss you have to use the Mega Ball on.
Capcom! Damn you...
I still can't believe there are people in this world that can beat the game without taking a single hit! Crazy shit!
The achievements in this game are.. Well, fucking ridiculous!
I mean, I like a challenge and all, but having to beat the game three times in a day and the other lame achievments are just stupid!
I still love you, Capcom...
Wonder what this super secret is?!
Please tell me that wasn't it. Was it?
