Of all the games I want to see localized, this is definitely near the top. It's also near the top of my "Games that I want localized but will never happen" list, so there's that.

I'm kind of disappointed. Wasn't this supposed to be a DS game? Oh well. At the rate that Layton games get localized, this game probably won't be out until I buy the 3ds lite anyway.
When I heard that chances of localizations are good, I stood up and walked around in a circle for the last couple of minutes flailing my arms around in excitement, then I made a really weird noise.

My most anticipated game for any platform. I would prefer a true ace attorney game, but this is the next best thing.
I think all of our penises are happy right now, maybe we should all get together in a room and make them sing songs to each other, I heard Journey's "Any Way You Want It" is a good crowd pleasure.

I've never played a single Layton game, but I'm in love with the Ace Attorney series. I'll take this.

I was in the exact same position as you and then I played Layton because this game was being made. I now like Layton even more than Phoenix Wright. Layton is fucking awesome and I'm looking forward to this so much. My only gripe is the 3ds part, I would really prefer 2d sprites but whatever, still going to be awesome.

Both series are fairly popular in america aren't they? So I would think this would get brought over.

I'm actually on the other side. I love Layton, and I just started playing Phoenix Wright this week to get hyped for this cross-over, I love it. Can't believe I hadn't played an Ace Attorney game sooner, I'm actually going to go play some more right now. Give Layton a chance, start from the beginning there's this very subtle, but brilliant character development that happens throughout the trilogy.

Layton and Ace Attorney are both successful enough franchises for this to have pretty good chances of making it over, right? I don't know why they haven't confirmed it outright but I think having it be let untranslated would be the less likely outcome.
god yes. Now all we need is a translation of perfect prosecutor 2 and the announcement of ace attorney 5 for 3ds

If this comes to the US I might have to buy a 3DS. I don't care about Layton, but Phoenix Wright? God yes.

They never had any voice actors whatsoever. All Ace Attorney games are voiceless and lack animated movie clips (unlike Prof. Layton), so this game is actually the first time we will see Phoenix Wright and Maya properly move and talk (I almost wet my pants when I saw the first teaser)

Of course it's coming out in the US. It's like free money to bring it out in the US. But I expect it'll take a while to localize: we still haven't even gotten Professor Layton and The Last Specter, not to mention the Layton game that was a launch game for 3DS in Japan.

Damn. Why can't this be a normal DS game? I decided not to buy a 3DS because I bought a DSi XL at launch and I'm planning on getting a Vita at launch, so unless I don't buy any games, I can't afford to buy a third handheld system. Plus, I think the 3D is gimmicky anyway and with the way Nintendo pretty much abandoned the Wii, I don't trust them not to drop the 3DS in a year or two for yet another gimmicky system. I just think they could have kept the DS going longer than they did.
