Yep, definately excited for this. I'm loving the added shadow work on Alan's body.
I wonder how this ties in to Alan's next manuscript. I remember him being a writer for the Night Springs show, so hopefully, with him still typing away in the cabin, this is a trippy diversion through his past scripts.

Even though I consider Alan Wake one of the most over-hyped games of all time, I still look forward to this semi-sequel as a potentially solid reminder that survival horror can produce new ideas and interesting gameplay without going over the top and turning into an action game.

Glad to see that they haven't given up on Alan Wake even though it sold like shit. I am surprised Microsoft is giving the go ahead for more Wake, they usually don't seem to want to push anything that isn't Halo or Call of Duty.
Either way, I am absolutely excited to take a trip back to the woods with my trusty flashlight. Alan Wake is one of the most engrossing games I have ever played. Will definitely buy more.

The Night Springs episodes were my favorite part of Alan Wake, or rather, the only part I really liked. It actually got me into the Twilight Zone.

Perhaps the pending release of Night Springs will finally compel me to download the second bit of DLC for the first game. No idea why I never pursued it.

If Wake doesn't drop the "same shit happening to the same guy" line from Die Hard 2 at some point I'll be forced to revoke the writer's storytelling credentials. Just sayin'
Maybe this one's actually ~halfway through development instead of still in pre-production at announce. First one was cool but it really felt like something that should've came out two or three years before it did.

Alan Wake made my buy my 360 so I might have to pick this up as the ol 360 has not been turned on in a good 6 months.
looks awesome from all the recent news it's clear it will have simillar quality to original Alan Wake. the amount of exclusive games MS will be publishing next year is ridiculous - right now it's like 2-3 games each month.

My guess/hope is that this is less of a side trip on the way to his next manuscript and more of a look back at what may have put him in the state of mind leading into the first game. Those Night Spring days could have been a big piece of what crushed him into his writing block- he didn't seem as fond of them as Barry was.

may have sold like shit but its one of those games that's going to have a cult following even years down the line. MS knows they can make some money off of that and I bet anything this XBL game is going to be a testing ground for this sort of thing, for them. Series that don't get massive sales figures could still make it to the top of the XBL most downloaded list, easily.

While I liked the first game, it did have its flaws. Perhaps Remedy has fixed the gameplay issues and if they have then I will be a first day downloader :)
