Longest Star Ocean: The Last Hope ad ever photo

If you think you're drowning in advertising with the Star Ocean: The Last Hope ads you're seeing all over this fine network of Web sites, you ain't seen nothing yet.

The above picture shows an escalator of Square Enix advertising power. In Hong Kong's popular shopping district Causeway Bay, this Star Ocean 4 escalator drives the point home all the way up (or down): you need to buy this game, too.

Siliconera says that the whole ride is scattered with LCD monitors showing a Star Ocean: The Last Hope trailer.  What a huge marketing push. This seriously rivals some of the big pushes we've seen in Tokyo's Akihabara.

After all of this, Star Ocean 4 had better be good!

This reminds me of the massive ads we had on the escalators in the London underground for Crisis Core except we didn't have the massive background banner. We had the repeating funky screens though.

The characters look freakishly doll like in this game.

I have hopes for this game, but after Infinite Undiscovery I am not so sure about this one.

I wish we had more advertising like this here in the states. Of course, there's always the whole GTAIV ad on a bus.

@elsteveo

Well i'm not to familier with Star Ocean so maybe this is the standard style they use?
If you mean JRPG's in general I can't say I've ssen anything as doll like in this game.

The trailers for SO 4 have me less excited than I was before. It looks like it runs at 25fps and the camera during battles is flat to the ground, so it makes it hard to figure out what the hell is going on.

I find it quite humorous that Square called this game "The Last Hope" considering all their console games this gen so far have sucked. It's like Star Ocean 4 is Square's last hope to make a good game that's not on a handheld, LOL! Ever since they switched to Xbox 360, it seems like they've been plagued with nothing but trouble...

Despite how hard they are pushing this game, I still have hopes for it.

Maybe they are pushing this hard because the past two Star Oceans have been exclusive to Sony's PS1 and PS2. I'm glad to see that they moved to Xbox360 to launch the title. This is one of the many gambles I took when I decided to stick to Microsoft.
