Long Ghostbusters script is long photo

If there was any doubt in your mind that the Ghostbusters game was going to be a good, well-rounded representation of the series, some recent news from Ernie Hudson (aka Winston Zeddmore) should put those doubts to rest. In an interview with videogaming247, Hudson revealed that the script is about 480 pages long, four times that of an average movie script of 120 pages, stating further, "It’s huge. It covers every possibility."

Granted, 480 pages of garbage is still garbage, but with Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis behind the game's content, the risk of a disappointing release seems minimal. Add to this ghostly stew the fact that Bill Murray is reprising his role as Dr. Peter Venkman, along with the rest of the core cast's return, and I couldn't be more excited.

If it hits all the right nostalgia buttons I'll forgive it pretty much anything. Hell if it has the commodore 64 game in there somewhere I'll get the stay puff marshmallow man tattooed on my chest.

I've got this weird feeling though that my hopes are reaching a level were there is no possibility of them being met.

What I find amusing is everybody thinks just because the script writers and original actors are in the loop that the gameplay elements wont POSSIBLY be bad.

Well I am going to wet my pants a little right now and hopefully the game will be better than the crappy ATARI 2600 and C64 versions that I happily wasted half my childhood grinding through...

@ Mix:

FYI, the idea with this is that it replaces a third movie. Ramis and Aykroyd were going to do another movie, but instead they are doing this game. Which actually might have been a good choice. I hope.

I can't speak for Ramis, but whan was the last time Aykroyd has done anything worthwhile? Just take a look at his IMDB page. It's impressively awful.

@ Brahms:

True, he hasn't done anything good since "Antz", but anyone who writes The Blues Brothers AND the Ghostbusters franchise basically has a free pass in my book.
