The latest issue of Nintendo Power is reportedly chock full of information and pics of the upcoming Sonic RPG for the Nintendo DS, now known to be called Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Crafted by BioWare, creator of the RPG hits Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, this game has me excited by its pedigree alone. According to the NP article, Sonic Chronicles will feature turn-based combat, "simple" dialog trees, fully animated cut scenes, and the return of everyone's favorite Totoro knock-off Big the Cat. Scans of the issue can be seen at French site Jeux-France.
Admittedly, the whole concept of a BioWare-developed Sonic RPG still has me befuddled. Sonic games are best when they are fast, short on story, and long on "mousetrap" style level designs. BioWare games are best when they are slow, big on story, and filled with
alien/human pillow talk. It's like if Square-Enix were announced to be working on
GTA puzzle game. I have no idea what to expect.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Who knows it might be decent, or it might be Sonic.
The person who makes the best NON-PORNOGRAPHIC photoshop of what this game might be like gets a hand made illustration of Sonic and Mr Destructoid picking up chicks and the Little Debbie snack cake of their choosing.
I'll start.
But if I can fix it, I will.
What's this crazy jump thing you're all talking a-boot?
We miss you, Geno!
Johnathan Holmes,
On the main page you can read the entire article, the "jump" is the link, or the article itself we click on to get to your story.
Usually on the main page a small % of the article is shown and once the "jump" is clicked we get to read the rest of the article.
Hope this helps!
Or do I? (cue Twilight Zone theme)
The jump is more a term than anything. If you replace jump with the word link, it would make more sense.
It's just how we readers get from the main page over to your written article, by the link "jump" and basically your entire article can be read from the main page. Hence, before the jump (or link) so unless someone is posting a comment there would be no need to click on your link (jump) to read the "rest" of the story.
*gasps for air*
Hope this helps even moar!
Do you still see one now? Maybe if I open explorer I'll see one in that.
Your C-blog was good, but it did not have the Jeux-France pics or the GoNintendo info. That's what makes our two blogs different.
But it's true, you did a blog about the game yesterday.
Everyone go read it right now.
The chaos crystals intrigued me as an 11 year when I played through the first sonic. None of the games had decent stories back then, so you had to use whatever the developers decided to toss in, plus your imagination. There was enough weirdness in Sonic 1 for something interesting to come out of it, but no, they had to bring sonic into the human world. wtf.
The picture below, is exactly what we readers see on the main page about your article, and the X's represent what we can click on to "jump" on over to your actual page for comments and such. As far as i know this is what the "jump" is being reffered to.
It's not necessarily a view story icon or tab we see, it's the hyper links. and as it is now your entire article can be read with out clicking on the links, to get to where we are now, posting comments.
Epic Image Shooping:

Thing is though, when I click the title, the comments, or the pic, I get the story. Did you check it again? Maybe right when the story went live, there was some glitch that corrected itself or something.
Anyway, you want a snack cake?
No mutha fu**** snacks on this mutha fu**** plane!
Glad I could (sort) of help, but who really knows, the internet is a finicky thing; however, my friends list is a little low if you catch my drift...lol
I already added you to mine. :)
"No seriously I know all the Destructoid editors/writers AND the creator"
"Dude stfu"
"Want proof? Check out my friends list"
"Man you ARE cool"
I think that drives some points home with some people, you know who you all are...lol
I almost pity her.
