Tecmo Koei has finally launched a buggering flickload of downloadable content for Dynasty Warriors 7. Annoyingly, only one bit of content -- the long-awaited Japanese voice option -- is free. Fortunately, the various costume and weapon packs are pretty cheap.
Here's the full load of content that you can pick up if you're feeling spendy:
- Costume Pack 0 (costumes from the first game) - 80 MS Points/$1.00
- Costume Pack 1 (costumes from DW6) - 80 MS Points/$1.00
- Japanese Voice Option - Free
- New Stage & BGM Pack 1 (Sanjiang Castle map, plus eight music tracks from DW5/DW6) - 240 MS Points/$3.00
- Weapon Pack 1 (Dagger-Axe and Bomb) - $2.00
For obvious reasons, the DLC isn't on PlayStation Network yet. Koei says it will be available as soon as the PlayStation Store returns.
Considering the costume packs were free in Japan, I'm not sure I'll be picking those up. That's a dick move from TK. Might have to splurge on the weapons, but since I have the PS3 version, that's a moot point right now.

Juuust as soon as the PSN and store are up.
I plan on getting the DW6 costumes, come on, this one has costumes for all 62 characters. There aren't many costume packs this big out there, and this one is only $1. Think about how much Capcom would have charged us!
I'll also be picking up the new stage.

That'd be a fair point if A) The costumes weren't already designed and B) Japan hadn't already gotten it free. It's a little galling to pay for something we know is free elsewhere.
The school uniform pack, I don't mind so much. I realize more original work went into those so I'd be happier to pay for them when they appear. Older costumes that Koei can apparently afford to give away, I'm not so keen on.
