EVO 2010 is in full swing right now in Las Vegas where fighting game fans have converged to beat the digital crap out of each other. G4TV is live streaming the weekend long brawl so you won't have to miss a second of action for all of you stuck at home.
Today saw people battling it out in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and Super Street Fighter IV. Saturday will see Tekken 6 and the Semi-Final matches take place for Super Street Fighter IV. Sunday is the big day where tournaments for Melty Blood, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, Super SF II HD Remix and Tekken 6 all go down.
Capcom will also have some Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 action taking place Saturday evening, just before the Super Street Fighter IV finals take place. You definitely don't want to miss these finals as it's always the EVO show highlight.

Also, I watched that Scumbag(fitting name, eh?) ragequit as it happened. I couldn't believe it and I couldn't help but laugh. Then someone said they play together all the time so it might have been staged. Wut?

THAT is why smash is not at EVO, the community is divided on rules and now even patches further segment the community.
There might still be a side tournament there for smash, as there is a tournament for just about anything there, its just not an official event.
