Look, I drink! Gamertag Radio is celebrating four years of podcasting for and by the Xbox 360 community at Club Ecco in downtown Miami (1st ave, 1st street, park anywhere) and we're crashing it with a bullhorn and $200 one-man-takes-all Street Fighter IV tournament, over $500 in prizes, an Xbox 360 and PS3 giveaway provided by SFX-360 and Furious Gamer, retro gaming with Infinite Bits, mini tournaments vs. Mr. Destructoid (he can barely see through the helmet, you can take him!), live music performances, insane pizza, and a live podcast with Godfree and Pete. If you're in the area stop by and come smell us! We'll be here till 10pm. Also, hadooooooooken!
Yanier "Niero" Gonzalez is Destructoid's founder and guy-in-the-helmet.After 2,000+ stories posted and years of starting trouble on the front page he's now busy behind the scenes building the future of Destructoid. His story is our motto: "Living The Dream".
It was a blast. The music was loud, the drinks were cold, and the gaming was non-stop. Thanks to everyone who hung out with Infinite Bits. I never knew Colette was such a Contra fan. I also realized I need to put down the Tatsunoko vs Capcom a little and practice on my SF4. I got the crap beat out of me...
@Kaos.... if you go online with SF4, be prepared...about 98.9% of your opponents will have a HUEG man-crush on Ken.
All in all, Community Vibes was indeed a blast; almost missed it on account of bringing my car in for maintenance; but it would've been about a 3-hour wait so I came down on a whim. Looks like my impatience worked in my favor for once. As for the highlight, well, I'd have to go with Dark Mark on that one; Infinite Bits definitely had the best setup; although some of the people playing Contra made me a little bit angry (one guy wasted 30 lives on one stage. ONE STAGE! How do you do that!!?!?!) I did also like DToid's Street Fighter 4 Arcade stick setup, though I'm still bummed at JUST missing the tournament (I bumped into Niero RIGHT after the last spot filled up... T_T). Still had loads of fun, though!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Great party BTW.
The setup by Infinite Bits was the highlight for me.
