If you're a fan of strategy RPGs you definitely know about the Final Fantasy Tactics series, and you're likely aware of Tactics Ogre, but have you heard of Valkyria Chronicles? Released relatively early in the PS3's life cycle, Valkyria Chronicles takes a more free form approach to the typically grid-based genre. All of the units can move around during their turns and this is only a part of the reason why people love the game so much.

I've never gotten to play Valkyria Chronicles, but Phil absolutely loves the game. He'll be showing me the ropes and I'm sure fans of the game will come out of the woodwork to come and hang out. It's going to be a great time looking back on one of Sega's best-loved games of the last generation. Make sure to come hang out on Dtoid.tv at 2PM PDT.

Final Fantasy: Record Keeper is out today, and it kicks the crap out of All the Bravest

Final Fantasy: All the Bravest was a travesty. It played itself, it was pretty abrasive in its pandering, and the microtransactions were so pushy that it was hard to enjoy it without feeling like you were constantly being sold something. Final Fantasy: Record Keeper is another free-to-play game in the same vein, but it's a much better effort that doesn't feel straight-up insulting to fans.more
