Last month we told you about a new Rambo game coming to Japanese arcades. We didn't expect to run into it in Japan almost one month later, but we did today at the Sega Joypolis arcade in Odaiba. We dropped in two 100 yen coins and got to work.

As promised, Rambo the arcade game has two guns and a huge 62-inch display. The game starts out with an introduction using footage straight from the Rambo movie. After watching that, you're dropped right into the scene, where you'll have to come out with guns blazing.

Each machine gun expels its rounds with the trigger held down, and can be reloaded by waving the gun away from the screen. A button on the front left side of the gun will trigger Rambo's "anger." This power comes from a meter that is gradually filled by successful kills. Once full, this anger can be unleashed, giving Rambo faster and more powerful machine gun fire.

We weren't able to pass the first stage, but Rambo looks pretty nice. It was a shame to see that there were only about three types of enemies total in the first stage, not counting rolling boulders or helicopters. It may seem strange, but the whole game is set to a hilariously inappropriate hip-hop score. It seems even more strange when Rambo yells his battle cry over it.

We're hoping this comes to America soon. Maybe then I can play with quarters instead, and next time we'll beat the 1st level.

'Each machine gun is expels its rounds'
and
'Once fun, is anger can be unleashed'

;-)

But seriously - sounds awful in that 'I really have to play this now' kind of way...

Looks really generic and boring to me, I'd rather shoot me some zombies...

That looks absolutely intense. It better come over here or the next 16 months at my arcade will be a reenactment of that video.

That looks freaken awesome.

Wii port right now, do it!
And beg High Voltage for that good graphics engine >.>

I do hope the game gets harder than that with a ton more soldiers to shoot.
Infact I want tanks MADE of soldiers damn it!
This is rambo man, kick ass take names and forget why no one but you can shoot the broad side of a barn let alone at all.

If only arcades in the US could come back. If only.
So awesome.

If I could just win the lottery I'd buy ten.
