If you own a PlayStation 3, you want LittleBigPlanet. And if you own a PS3 and don't want LBP, get your head examined. You have about a month to figure it out, buddy -- the release date for the title has officially been announced for all territories. And they are:

October 21st North America & Latin America
October 22nd Europe, Australia & New Zealand
October 24th UK & Ireland
October 29th 80GB PLAYSTATION®3 Bundle in Europe
October 30th Japan
October 31st 80GB PLAYSTATION®3 Bundle in UK & Ireland

It's also been confirmed that a free "Astronaut" costume for Sackboy will be available for download at launch. Additionally, a "Week One" Sackboy t-shirt will be available as well for in-game use. Both DLC items will be available for a limited time only.

Do want. That is all.

Humm, interesting that most of the sites - play, amazon, zavvi et al, all still have it as a release date of the 31st Oct. I'm hoping its just that the news is too hot off the press for those slackers to catch up with you Nick :)

Oh, and do want...

I predict a multitude of DToid robot cameos in various LBP levels.

Oh all the games I sort of want, this is the one I sort of wnat the most.

It's a great concept, but there is so god damn little going on in the game!

I have a question for all the "do want"ers on this game.

I'm not trying to stir up a crap storm or anything, but I was just curious what the deal is with LBP? I guess I just don't get it.

I mean the visuals are fantastic, sure, and sackboy is adorable, but isn't the main hook the ability to create and upload (and subsequently download) user created content?

'Cause I can do that in Megaman: Powered Up, or N+. That's all I can think of off the top of my head but i guess i don't know what the big deal is.

Although all the hype certainly makes me want it, when I evaluate the idea of purchasing the game i don't see why else i should buy it since i suck at making levels and probably so do most people (hell even developers can't get it right alot!)

Again, i'm not being a dick or anything, i just wonder if someone can point out what i'm missing...
Little (big planet) help here?

(see what i did thar?)

@Leviathan902

I have thought the same thing! I lack the attention spawn and desire to create an awesome level for others to enjoy but I'm sure I will try it to see what happens.

I just want to get hopping around on this with my Girlfriend.

Btw, I hope the paid dlc do not cost more than half a dollar, I hope pukeable game that is PAIN did not sell many of those extra characters, giving Sony the wrong idea.

Did I say PAIN sucked ballzors?

@Leviathan902

The key to it is the physics and mechanical nature of the level creation. MediaMolecule have said its possible to create a fully functioning mechanical car and a working difference engine. Its that mechanical stuff that's exciting me about the level creator.

Also, its just going to be an insanely fun platformer.

I'm with Leviathan... The game looks beautiful, for sure, but I feel like everybody wants it just because the company has made us believe that we want it. Otherwise, it's a 2D co-op platformer with customizable levels, and that's it, right? It at least had better be really well done...

@Dexter: 2-D co-op platformer with customizable levels sounds pretty awesome to me, regardless of which company makes it.

I don't have a PS3, nor can I afford a PS3, and I'm so tempted to preorder this anyway, and somehow find access to a PS3 just to get the DLC. I have a PSN ID so I could always redownload everything again once I get a PS3....

I know this is sad.
