LittleBigPlanet netting over $150 on eBay photo

It was only a matter of time. Following Sony's worldwide recall of LittleBigPlanet, opportunistic eBay dealers have started selling the soon-to-be-replaced discs for over $150.

The recalled discs feature a backing track which contains lines from the Qur'an. Not wanting to anger Allah, Sony has chosen to replace all copies of the game, pushing the release date back.

Those who spy a future collector's item -- or are just desperate to start playing LBP -- are bidding like crazy, while quite a few copies are showing up for sale. If you want to get your hands on an Islamazing deal, hit up eBay. You'd be Qur'azy to miss it!

Listen, if I can keep my mouth shut when people post humorous pictures of Christ and (with a few rare exceptions) when people take potshots at Christianity, then Muslims can deal with a picture associating Osama Bin Ladin with Islam. Chill out, remove stick from ass, etc.

Muslims don't get special treatment just because they're uptight and strict. Deal with it.

Hey at least you would go all the way with those jokes. Good job. :) Ride the joke as far as you can.

Instead of removing the track that offends Muslims, just add some new tracks that offend Christians, Jews, Hindus, Scientologists, and call it even!

I'm ignoring the drama in this thread because it's stupid. People are way too uptight.

...Anyway, I've always considered ebay scalpers bad, but this is just stupid. Since LBP went gold, they probably have made tons of retail discs already. My guess is that there will be a patch that will be available once the game is out and will remove the song in question. Thus the game will be changed once it comes out on its proper release day. Buying it now is a pointless waste of money.

I can wait another week. I don't even have my PS3 yet anyway.

Let's stop fucking around here. The story was related to muslims so Jim thought "Hm...Muslims...Who's a muslim?...AH! Osamam Bin Laden" and posted the picture. Simple. Of course, he didn't expect it to be offensive but I really doubt he was shooting for some more abstract joke like Bin Laden is a bad muslim. Just drop it.

Really can't believe how uptight people have to be nowadays. An entire game is recalled from shelves, not for a defect, but because of a single line of lyrics.

Completely retarded.

I totally called it in the LittleBigJihad: Media Molecule addresses LBP delay thread... 'I say keep your 'non-Islamic friendly' version sealed... it'll be worth $$$ one day.'...

"Not sure a story about an Islamic issue should automatically be linked with a picture of Osama bin Laden... Islam ≠ terrorism, you know."

But hey, what's that? Radical Muslims are the reason that Sony have recalled the game? DAAYAM!!

You're argument is just the result of a sandy vagina.

Now I'm totally against censorship but I find it amusing that when something has offended people because they are afraid that morals are being perverted, everyone thinks it's a joke.
But when a collective of people who's beliefs are the product of a pedophile with symptoms of epilepsy get upset that the ramblings of said pedophile are reproduced against music and others make fun of this IT'S AN OUTRAGE!!!

Take notes Jim, this is how to be controversial.

my post from jim's other Muslim hate instigating post...

Muslims wouldn't be offended by this, its members of other religions/creeds that would be offended. Think about it, if some suburban churchgoing soccer mom found out her 10 y/o son was playing a game that was reciting verses from the Koran, how do you think she would react?

Being the ignorant person that she is, she would think it was devil talk and raise hell in her community, then the local news picks it up, then Fox News..Next think you know were invading another majority Muslim country cause the terrorists are placing subliminal messages in our media.

I'm really tired of this Politically Correct bullshit. People don't have a right not to be offended. It's that simple. There's always going to be something that's offensive to someone. If something offends you then you have the option of not watching, playing, listening to, or reading it.

This is ridiculous. We don't give into the idiots who attack GTA for letting you run over hookers, or the idiots who attack Mortal Kombat for letting you rip out someone's spine and beat them to death with it. But we have to give into the idiots who don't want us to quote what they believe in? That's insane.

And how exactly is it offensive to quote what someone believes in? That's like me saying that my favorite color is red, so there had better not be anything red in the game or I'm going to be offended.

@gitrooman
No, you're wrong. People don't care if they offend Christians. People are afraid to offend Muslims, because Muslim extremists become violent. That's a fact. They rioted and killed people over some stupid political cartoon that showed Muhammed. That's why Comedy Central wouldn't even let South Park show Muhammed, but they let them do whatever they want with Jesus. The Muslims get their way because they use violence to intimidate people, which is basically terrorism. When people give into them and do things like recall LBP because it quotes the Qur'an, they're basically giving into terrorism.

I just wrote a long reply, then I deleted it because it was just pointless rambling. Point: If you put a picture of a Gamestop or Best Buy and a plane flying into it as a result of this delay, that would have produced a chuckle or two. Just putting Bin Laden is kind of cheap and not imaginative. Also suggestive.
