LittleBigPlanet 2 officially announced for Winter 2010

After already being revealed by way of Game Informer, Sony has today officially announced LittleBigPlanet 2. The game, developed once again by Media Molecule, will be out this year, given a release window of "Winter 2010" which should see it arrive just in time for the holidays.

The game's first official trailer has also been revealed, making this official confirmation even more official in all its officialism, which is officially an official word, officially. Looks good, and it would be incredibly gauche to bring up the fact that Media Molecule said this game wasn't going to happen, so we're not going to do that.

LittleBigPlanet 2. It is a thing. Upon reflection, it's probably a good thing as well. LBP had oodles of character, but the platforming needed severe tightening. Marry the creativity of the first game with some awesome gameplay and better physics in this sequel and we have a thorough winner on our hands, I reckon.
