I'm not what one could call a "graphics whore" -- I love Wii games, and Deadly Premonition is one of my favorite games of all time. However, when a game looks as gorgeous as LittleBigPlanet 2, screw it, I'm going to bust a nut.

This latest trailer shows off the grappling hook and is well worth checking out. I'm quite eager to see the full game in action, so if Sony would like to hurry up and send us some copies, we wouldn't say no!

Did Sackboy just reel in the ground at 25?

How ca we tell how good it looks with springboard serving the video? Kidding, much love, but please kill that player with fire.

Alright Mr. Sterling. I'm not going to fire up this video only to see you running around town in a Sackboy costume am I? You fooled me pretty bad with that 3DS video, and I'm still a little bitter about it.

Am I still paying 60 bucks for a level editor?

Or is there actually some content to justify the price this time?

Fucking what? LBP lacked content? Now I've heard everything.

Justify the price? I'll justify your face if you insult LittleBigPlanet again!

For serial though, LittleBigPlanet was one of my favourite PS3 games and the sequel looks like they've improved upon every aspect of the game.

I see RenegadePanda's point. I was similarly disappointed with LBP. The creation tools are cool, but I wanted a robust platformer. What I got was collection of loosely connected levels with floaty physics and an absent story. I'm not saying it's bad, I just went in expecting something different. This will be one of the few times I bought the first iteration of a franchise and will not be buying the second.

I'm sorry, but a giant level editor does not justify 60 bucks.

Give me something to play that doesn't require 6 hours of work beforehand to construct.

You do know that you can just download other people's levels right? Sure there is some crap out there but there are also a lot of really awesome user created levels. You're not required to spend any time at all with the level editor in order to enjoy LBP.

I don't understand what you mean. Not only was there a significantly large campaign, but it also enabled multiplayer. You could also play the thousands of user generated levels, some of which were simply amazing in their creativity. Personally, I never even created a level, but I never really felt the need to. There was a ton of other stuff to do with that game.

Wait, what????

I've spent 100's of hours on LBP and have never even opened the level creator!

And since when did platformers need stories? (mario, nuff said) Its all about gameplay and LBP is absoulutely full of it thanks to user created levels, a GOOD 4 player platforming co-op, and just great online play/features in general.

Thanks to all that there is always something new to come back to when you play!

Anyway, back to the story: if they fix the wonky/floaty jump mechanics, I'm definitely in for this. Hell, I'll probably be in even if they don't.

I'm fooling around with the LBP2 Beta right now, it's amazing times infinity. If I can find the time I might share my thoughts in a blog.

@Renegade Panda
6 hours? More like 6 weeks. But in the end it's all worth it. You are seriously trying to blame the game for your lack of effort? That's lame dude. I understand you haven't fiddled around with the game. Because if you did you would see that even for lazy people there is more than enough to do. There are some mind boggling levels out there. Even the really crappy levels are fun to play with friends.

I think i read some where (GI i think) that you can tweak the physics. The example given was that one user could tweak the jump to match that of, say, Yoshi. But on top of that, the tweaked jump mechanic could be uploaded for others to use. I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure that was reported. too lazy to research.

The campaign alone is worth $60 in LBP1. My wife and I spent 50 hours getting all the items/challenges.

That's not including playing people's levels or making our own.

@panda - u mad bro? LBP had a large, extremely well done single player out of the box, even more fun multiplayer, a bajillion user levels available, a ton of post release content, some of it even for free, and it had Stephen Fry in it. STEPHEN FRY!!

Also, I am excite for LBP2! :D

I'm afraid that I just can't get over how much I dislike the look of sackboy. I feel like he is caught in some sort of cute uncanny valley - too ugly to be cute but lacking any other sort of personality. Then again when in the game do you actually see his ugly mug? At the beginning and end I guess.

@RenegadePanda: LOL WUT. You have got to be trollin'. There is no other explanation I can think of to explain such an ridiculously inane comment. (I'm going on the premise that you aren't mentally retarded and that you would have actually played or at least done a tiny bit of research about LBP before making an incredibly uninformed opinion.)

@SayWord:

You bite your tongue. I pre-ordered eight copies of Black Ops because Bobby Kotick deserves the money.

Anyway, LBP turned me off because I wanted a cohesive, crafted single player experience. Unfortunately for me, LBP doesn't provide that. The user-created content features are brilliant, and probably the best for a console game to date. However, they just didn't interest me. I'm not saying its worthless by any means, I just didn't personally enjoy it.

In addition, I share the same gripes about the physics and loose controls as some of the other posters. Playing with in-game physics is a blast, but only when they are realistic and predictable (or comically unrealistic). Objects in LBP were unusually light and floaty, including Sackboy.

LBP is only fun when you have people to play it with. But then it's SOOOOOO MUCH FUN.

@somanycats - I actually enjoyed LBP much more as a single player game. The mechanics just didn't seem to work in many levels once you added an extra person or 3. (Biggest annoyances were dying because you managed to get farther ahead than everyone, and getting a gameover because a teammate used up all your lives.) It works alright in the more mini-game esque levels, but I don't find those as fun as the full platforming levels.

I'm highly anticipating LBP2, but I do hope multi-player is one of the things that is going to get improved. I'm sure there will be enough content to satisfy me alone, but since the game seems to be marketed as a multi-player experience it would be great if they actually made it fun.

Yes, there is a gravity option. You can tweak it in different ways just like for instance the lighting option in the first game. It works perfectly in the spaceship level featured in the beta. You start with normal gravity but switch to, let's call it, moon gravity later in the level.

You can not change your pod, but you can put decorations and stickers in and outside your pod. If you search "Pod Ideas" in the community search you will get some levels with pod ideas and probably some glitches to make your pod invisible
