Lips' wireless microphone will be compatible with Rock Band... eventually photo

I would kill a faceless stranger to have a mic like the above image for Rock Band. And, when I get the death penalty due to my utter lack of remorse, I'd demand to be buried with it.

A few weeks ago, we learned that the wireless microphone packaged with Microsoft karaoke title, Lips, would not be compatible with either of the major music games on the market. Lips creator Keiichi Yan suggested that a patch from the developers of Guitar Hero and Rock Band could remedy that situation.

Today, MTV Multiplayer reported that MTV Games and Harmonix are stepping up to the plate to develop such a patch. It's great to hear that Harmonix is putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to offering support for as wide a range of peripherals as possible.

Of course, the benefits for Microsoft should be obvious as well. Imagine how many copies of Lips they'll be able to push as exciteable Rock Band players who will settle for nothing less than wireless rocking snap them up. Brilliant, really.

Not exactly, but it's downright creepy how similar the two headlines are. Not as creepy as you actually noticing or caring, but creepy nonetheless.

Complete coincidence.

And the Lips wireless mic is pretty snazzy.

I don't know if I'll ever spend the $70 for a wireless mic though. Necros might!

I hate cords. I'm glad we're getting rid of them.
